First Jeff Van Gundy predicts that the Bulls will need "A heck of a year" to make the playoffs and now his older brother Stan made a prediction on an Orlando Sports Radio Show on ESPN AM-740's "The Game" that Bulls point guard Derrick Rose will leave Chicago at some point in his career.

He said of it on the show quote “I think Derrick Rose is a great, great representative of our league, and he's a great player. And he's got good players around him, very good players around him, but if (the Bulls) can't get another star there for him is he eventually going to look around and say, 'Hey, I've got to work this out on my own and I've got to find somehow to get somewhere else so that I will have a chance to play with another star?' The league has changed.”

Can anyone imagine Derrick saying "This fall i'm gonna take my talents to.........." ? while Van Gundy is right about the Bulls getting some big names around him to eventually win a championship I do not see The former MVP leaving his hometown team and playing elsewhere. Rose even said it himself that "Its just a dream come true" the moment he was introduced the Bulls organization after he was drafted in 08.

What do you think Bull fans? Do you see Derrick Rose playing his entire career with Chicago or do you think he'll play elsewhere?

There's no guarantee of a title by going somewhere else. He gets the most money staying. If he goes somewhere else he gets more media scrutiny because he will be brought in as the big piece of the puzzle. Here people want a winner but the pressure isn't put on one guy and the venom from the media isn't tolerated by the fans. Here he's the hometown guy, fans in Chicago value loyalty, he can get the same endorsements being here, his every move isn't followed by TMZ and if he doesn't have a major screwup the fans will stick by him.

The Van Gundy's aren't from Chicago, they never spent any time here and don't know much about it. they're East coast guys and they don't get it.

I would love to see D-Rose be a Bull his whole career but at this day and age, I don't know if I see that happening. Yeah, he's got a nice contract now but eventually money isn't an issue to some athletes and I can see that being the case with D-Rose. I do see him getting frustrated eventually with the Bulls not getting him his Scottie Pippen and other help. I hope i'm wrong here.

We all would love to see him stay in Chicago for his entire career. The likelihood he does is good, as of the current assumption.

If things go right (for once) for the team in the seasons ahead he would be more inclined to stay.

Just more Van Gundy hate aimed toward the Bulls. Jeff, I'm sorry that your Knicks teams got pants by the Bulls year in & year out during the 90's. Stan, I also apologize that our beloved Bulls swept the Heat every year they met in the playoffs during the 90's as well. I'm also sorry that our coach, Phil Jackson, was better than yours, Pat Riley.

It's 2012 Van Gundy brothers, time to let it go.

I doubt Rose will leave, unless we(garpax) do nothing to help the team improve.

This is a good prediction. Van Gundy hasn't called anything accurately for 5 years. You can literally pull out a handful of the thousands of rants, and say, wow, he was right.... on a handful.

Rose is the type of guy I think that will stay in Chicago even if they are the worst team in the league. His desire is to represent his home town, and bring home as many titles to them as he can, no matter what it takes. he's not like lebron or any of the other players in the league that are so desperate for a title that they need to come together to win one. There isn't another personality like Rose's in the NBA

Championships are Derrick Rose's goal.
If it becomes impossible for him to reach it here, then I would expect him to do what he's got to do.
If PaxGar keep up there standpat act, what would you do?
Derrick Rose will represent Chicago no matter what team he plays on because he is from here and his Chicago family and friends will suuport him and be proud of him no matter what. I wouldn't be mad at Derrick if he left.
My anger would soley be directed at management for blowing a great opportunity.

Maybe loosing Rose will wake PaxGarReinsdorff up.

Besides, how many players in Bulls history have actually played there entire career as a Bull?

I wouldn't be shocked if Rose eventually takes his talents to sunny California.

Think about it.

Purhaps Derrick will stay a Bull untill he's in his 30s, and if he hasn't won here yet, then he may pull a Steve Nash move and take his talents to sunny California.....

Nah, D-Rose will persuade management to trade up to get Jabari Parker in 2014 & Chicago will have a Chicago backcourt that will lead them to many championships.............just kidding, Lebron is about to go on a tear w/ the exception of Kobe & LA getting 1 more ring in the next 2 yrs. Lets just hope the Lakers can crush Lebron & Miami's spirit forcing him to leave Miami by contract termination in 2014.

The bitter Van Gundy brothers need to find a new hobby.

It really doesn't matter the subject they fucking cry about everything. Both need to go the **** home & shut up.

No one cares about them.

Tough to argue with Stan's logic here. Depending on what the Bulls do in the future personnel wise, I could see Rose at some point looking around. Now whether that's in 2 years or 7 years it remains to be seen but it's not an absurd idea.

I don't think it's out of the question to say that Rose might consider leaving in 5 years if management hasn't put together a contending team around him. After all, all he wants to do is win. Obviously we're already out of contention for the next 2 or 3 years. That leaves about a 2 year window of his current contract for us to try to get past Miami and win a title. If the FO fails again (and I don't see a reason to think otherwise at this point) I wouldn't be shocked to see rumors of Rose looking elsewhere.

If you look at how players are doing things in the league (ie superteams) it's hard to see Rose thinking "screw all them anyway, I'm still gonna try to win myself." The question then is does he look to go somewhere else, or does he attempt to lure another star here?

It's not far fetched. It will happen later than sooner if it happens at all. I hate when people get pissy about Lebron leaving Cleveland. He's one man. He couldn't win a championship by himself. The Cavaliers sucked big time and the management didn't get him help. Of course he's going to leave. Just like Dwight did.

At least the Bulls are trying to build a team around Rose. Albeit, they still could use another superstar sized talent.

(I mean, this season they aren't trying to build a good team, but they tried when they got Boozer and Korver, signed Noah, etc.)

Also, I remember Rose saying during the time all the big-name free agents were available a few years ago, that he didn't want them on the team because the Bulls is his team and he wanted to carry them to victory. Or was he just talking about Lebron?

That was a young enthusiastic Rose just coming onto the league when he made those comments.
As he gets older and sees himself no closer to an NBA championship while watching L.A, Miami and OKC get there glory, Derrick could realistically have a change of heart...........

I'm not a fan or even like the Van Gundy boyz, but I must take his warning seriously.
What Van Gundy said, is somthing I've already been saying for years.
I even posted the same idea about Rose leaving on C.C.S more than a few times.....

Actually, PaxGar had better take Van Gundys warning seriously or we really could loose Rose.

Maybe if Pax put a real offensive threat on the floor with Rose, maybe he wouldn't have gotten injured also.
Just my opinion.

Those were words that were put in his mouth. He never said anything like that. The only thing Rose has ever said regarding recruiting players, was that he has too much respect for his other "brothers" (teammates) to throw them under the bus by openly recruiting a player who plays their position. Deng is one of his closer friends on the team & he just happens to play the same position as Lebron.

People can call it stupid or naive or whatever but not me. It's rare, not just in the NBA but in the World itself, to find someone so humble & respectful of others. Nothing has given me an indication that this will change in Rose, & I hope it never does.

I respect the hell out of Derrick Rose for him being the way he is.
