Just out of curiosity would anyone be interested in drafting Fournette in 2017 if we were to trade Matt Forte this yr? This guy looks like a once every 10 yrs type of back and would give our new rookie QB an impact player to go along with Kevin White to build around....Now i also hate the idea as well since our defense is so pathetic and in need of impact players as well...I just think that Fournette has a chance to be an Adrian Peterson kind of monster in the NFL.

He's a man among boys right now in college and I think will be better than Eddie Lacy. Only problem is we need a franchise QB somewhere along the line.

If he's this good I'm not sure the Bears will be picking top 5 to get him.

Well my thought process was we get a QB in this yrs draft in Goff or Cook..Fournette is ineligible do to being a Soph. for this yrs draft. So we would go QB in round 1 in upcoming draft and then attempt to snag Fournette in 2017. I only hate the idea because we also need to address the defense at some point..maybe i would be more on board if Bears throw all this cap space at impact players in Free Agency to start plugging some holes.

So the anticipation is that the Bears will be drafting top 5 in 2017? Fairly pessimistic of you...

Barring injury, Fournette will go top 5 in 2017. Hopefully by that time we are convinced that we have a solid replacement for Forte in Langford so that we can address other needs. I'm staying with the mindset that we are going QB in 2016. I'm going to make a prediction that we go Safety or pass rush in the mid-first round in 2017.

No. This is a passing league, and will continue to be so. Drafting a running back before the 4th round is a waste of a pick.

^^Haha who didn't see that one coming. Here's a newsflash for the slow people. You can take a player like A.P. do a redraft over the past 20 years and he lands in the top 10 every single time.

And he will continue to land in the top 10 as the years roll on. If this kid lives up to the hype he will most certainly be (and deserving) of a top 10 selection.

2017 is going to be loaded with backs. Fournette is an absolute animal but don't forget about Chubb who will also be eligible and is dominant in his own right.

Chubb reminds alot of Gore when he was coming up.

I can see that. Michael Turner is another one that comes to mind. Stout and explosive as they come. This week VS Bama has a chance to break Herschell Walker's Georgia record for 100 yard games in a row, which he tied last week with 12.

Right. I caught last weeks game. If we wanna file it down I believe Chubb moves better laterally than Turner who was more of a one cut runner. Stature and speed are definitely similar.

Any studs in the 16 class? I'm way behind this year.

So 2015 we went WR. 2016 QB. 2017 RB. So that's just two more bad seasons until we hit 2018 when we can finally rebuild the defense. Unless we have to start over at QB or draft a LT to protect the 2016 QB. This is going to be great...
