Look at Fox getting shitty with the media just because they asked him a tough question about the final play.

"When you're out there playing quarterback it looks a little different than when you're up in the press box having hot dogs."

Pretty sure every NFL QB is supposed to be able to see his best wide receiver coming open deep with no safety for what could have been the game winning touchdown.

Never gonna hear the Hoyer nuthuggers/ Cutler haters admit Hoyer totally shit the bed on the last play. As bad as Cutler might be he recognizes one on one with his best receiver and throws it to Alshon.

Ever since Hoyer took over, Alshon has been third in targets. THIRD. Your best receiver is getting fewer targets than Zach Miller and Eddie Royal. If I'm not mistaken, I think against the Colts, Alshon was fourth in targets.

That's because Alshon is not a route runner. Hoyer is successful when he can count on guys coming out of their breaks.

I had this thought given Cutler has always stared down his #1 WR (except for when he didn't have a #1), but I also had the thought of the Colts defense possibly adjusting and realizing Hoyer was favoring Meredith and thus had him in that double coverage trap essentially while going single on Jeffrey.

You can also say the Bears are never in that position in the first place if Cutler is the starter (either good or bad). Given Cutler is turnover prone, the Colts may be up by quite a bit in the 4th quarter for all we know. That or the Bears could be winning if Cutler is having one of those good games.

Hoyer shit the bad on that read, that's obvious to anyone, but who know's how the game unfolds if Cutler is playing.

THANK YOU. Was going to say exactly this. Alshon is a fantastic talent, but he is not great at running routes. He's actually best suited for Cutler, as they both rely on broken plays to adlib and get chunk yards, and while that is exciting, it often comes at the expense of the rest of the offense, since neither is exactly playing within the system, and therefore not within the game plan.

As for Hoyer vs Cutler, its a moot point not even worth debating since Jay is gone at the end of the season, and even if they re-sign Hoyer, they are going to be drafting the heir apparent in this upcoming draft.
