Ever since Hoyer took over, Alshon has been third in targets. THIRD. Your best receiver is getting fewer targets than Zach Miller and Eddie Royal. If I'm not mistaken, I think against the Colts, Alshon was fourth in targets.
That's because Alshon is not a route runner. Hoyer is successful when he can count on guys coming out of their breaks.
I had this thought given Cutler has always stared down his #1 WR (except for when he didn't have a #1), but I also had the thought of the Colts defense possibly adjusting and realizing Hoyer was favoring Meredith and thus had him in that double coverage trap essentially while going single on Jeffrey.Never gonna hear the Hoyer nuthuggers/ Cutler haters admit Hoyer totally shit the bed on the last play. As bad as Cutler might be he recognizes one on one with his best receiver and throws it to Alshon.
