Pace's subterfuge has guys that got fooled reaching for reasons they didn't have the scoop or changing the narrative to have you look the other way while they wipe the egg off their faces. Fox was not out of any loop he wanted to be in, not that we really care at this point. Fox just seemed to be phoning it in and that may have been true about the draft as well.

The failure of Fox was the best thing to ever happen for DaaBears. He is free now, and I bet his life is better, and he is happier and more well rounded. It was a win for him.

I remember him saying he'd leave if the Bears did not go 3-0 after the bye week but many talked him off the ledge. He may have run out of excuses for Foxy as the season continued on and he knew the writing was on the wall. I personally hope he comes back.
