Freaks and Geeks

Did anyone watch this show? I just watched the entire first season (which is all they have, show got cancelled for some dumbass reason).

It is now easily a top 5 for favorite show of mine. The cast is phenomenal.

James Franco, Linda Cardellini, Seth Rogen, Busy Phillips, Jason Segel, Martin Starr, John Daley etc.

Martin Starr plays the best nerd in any show ever, and if that doesn't persuade you: Squints from the Sandlot is the bully who picks on the geeks.

Some big names got there start here, they were all teenagers in real life when they filmed this. Ages ranged from like 16-20. Linda was 24 and John was 13, but it's so cool to see all these guys so young and in a high school show.

I found it very relatable, touching, genuinely funny, and it just makes you want to keep watching. I was so bummed that there was only 18 episodes. Although they're 45 mins long, so that's actually somewhat a lot.

If any of you want to watch a new show on Netflix, you really need to watch it. It has quite a big cult following today.

Here's a random clip I think is hilarious (these are the younger geeks in the show):

I remember liking the show when it came out back in, well I forget what year but it was well over a decade ago. maybe even the late 90's.
anyways, I wasn't a hardcore watcher of the show at the time but have since watched the entire season on netflix, it's a shame it was cancelled. would have been cool to see what happened after the ending of the final episode

I agree, I liked both when they came out and they're quality.

The only thing is sometimes it melds the line of comedy/drama so well it actually leaves you feeling odd after some episodes. I've heard that from a few others and myself.

The writer had plans for the 2nd season. There was an interview with him. Bill was gonna be a jock on the basketball team, 2nd season was gonna open up with Lindsay being taken from the Grateful Dead concert on a stretcher, Kim was gonna be pregnant.

Here it is, it goes in detail on what would happen to every character in Season 2:

Thanks for the link.

I love the show. I cycle through the whole season about once a month switching off with Undeclared! It's up there on my list of old shows along with The Wonder Years, Malcom in the Middle, and King of the Hill.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
Yeah, I loved this show when it aired and even revisiting it later. One of my top 10 all-time favorite TV shows. Another one in my favorites list in a similar genre (HS drama, canceled before its time) was Life As We Know It. Very similar tone, not as good as Freaks and Geeks, but if you're looking to fill an open void after a F&G high, look no further.
