Cap on ESPN Chicago just said the #Bears are looking to kick the tires on Justin Houston. Love the idea, but not sure how they make those numbers work. Houston won’t make that $15+ million, but he will likely command too much money. Thoughts? #DaBears

@clubdubbearsblg

I can't see how we make that work money wise and would think Houston would want to be a starter not a 3rd OLB. Any chance the Bears don't pick up the 5th year option on Floyd or have they already done that? Houston has a pretty bad injury history. Why not go for T.Suggs who would be cheaper or C.Wake, C.Mathews? Would love to get Houston and keep Floyd but just can't see it.

On NFL Network, @TomPelissero mentioned the Chicago Bears as a potential landing spot for Cordarrelle Patterson.

I would love this. He’s a great kick returner. He’s taken two to the house at Soldier Field. Once with the Vikings and last year with the Pats...

He’s still not a great route runner but if you can get him the ball in space, he’s dangerous. Obviously the Pats used him out of the backfield too. I think Pace was interested in Patterson before he signed with the Raiders.

Former Patriots’ OT Trent Brown intends to sign a four-year, $66 million contract that includes $36.75 million guaranteed with the Oakland Raiders, per source, making him highest paid OL in NFL history.

That is an idiotic contract for an under achiever.

They took OTs at 15 and 65 last season.

I'm told there have been some level of discussions within the #Bills on impending FA DE Trey Flowers. Gathering of opinions, was the tone conveyed at this point. Other potential targets that peaked interest in similar discussions, are mired in a tag situation.

I do not think the Bears will pay that.

Flowers is going to get paid, but he's a Malik Jackson type player/signing (from DEN) IMO. He's not a franchise player, and will be a bad FA value signing.

I agree. Going to get way over paid. Unless, the Bears sign him in which case he was one of the most astute signings in the league.

Really the only thing I'm interesting in is the older cheap established OLBs and what the Safety market is doing for this FA. It's kinda nice to sit back and watch other teams back up the Brinks truck for mediocre talent.

The Giants are still involved in trade discussions with Odell Beckham Jr., according to a source. One of the league’s best wide receivers remains on the market.

LMAO such a ridiculous situtation after signing a player to a mega deal.

Won't lie, it absolutely feels (to me) like Pace is waiting in the weeds ready to make a sizable move. Problem is I have no clue who it would be for & how they could afford anything too lucrative. #Bears

Leming has PTSD from the free agency periods of the last few years...
