Fleischmann is a winger, if it matters -and was ineffective at centre, which is what got him traded off of the Capitals. Plus he seems to have some health issues that are pretty severe (if you can trust wikipedia, it is pumonary embolism). I imagine you are right about being able to sign the guy for less; but aside from him not being a winger any more than Frolik is (porbably less), it doesn't address the centre position, and his health issue is such, that if it was not an issue, then there is little reason for Colorado to not have been interested in Mr Fleischmann.

SOunds like his future is up in the air, and all the best to the guy -being diagnosed with something like that at such a young age has to be pretty rough.

Ok after doing a search I have seen Laich's name mentioned, outside of posts complaining about posts saying someone like Laich as a potential signee all of...

once by Tbo in passing, and once by myself. Which in my opinion doesn't constitue even your or the other guy's definition of a "love affair".
