Does anyone remember this genre of gaming? I miss it, although there were a LOT of shitty FMV games, there were some games that were pretty awesome for their time.

My favorites, Myst series, Phantasmagoria, Gabriel Knight 2. I prefer the video interactive games and I really don't give a shit about the CGI animated ones, although Myst is an exception.

If you have never played the original Phantasmagoria, you missed out on something. It was a somewhat cliche thriller type adventure, but it showed some of the possibilities of the genre. I can't help but consider how FMVs could have progressed and improved, along with the stories, concepts, amount of options, amount of exploration, and better acting.

When this was considered soo controversial congress had to have hearings on how it was destroying america.

Yeah, and that was a terrible game too LOL. Night Trap and Mortal Kombat are the two key reasons why the ESRB was formed. What a waste of taxpayer money, especially when we already had laws on the books that would prevent sales to minors for real porno-games. Violent games, to this day, are still purchasable by children, and they have given kids all over the world the ability to take out their frustrations on fake-beings, rather than beat up living people or animals. :smh:

Phantasmagoria though. That's where it's at. :yeah:

The X-Files Game for PC and PlayStation. It was like an interactive point and click movie, if that fits into the genre you're talking about. I played that game so much when I was little, but I didn't own it, so every time I'd go to the video store I'd rent it. It didn't get very good reviews, but I loved it. Man I miss the X-Files.

I would kill to have another X-Files game like that. In HD and not on 4 discs like the PSone version. I think the PC version was like 7 discs or something crazy like that.

Ah such nostalgia.

Never played or heard of this before, but I guess they made a FMV game in 2010.

14gb game... nice. I have no idea if its a good FMV, but they certainly used a lot of storage space to make the game.
