Dear Chicago Bulls Fans:

The Chicago Bulls 2011-12 season is one we will remember for a long time. It took us on a journey that no one could have predicted when the team took the court on Christmas Day.

This season saw a Bulls squad that was a team in every sense. Veterans and young players alike gave gutsy performances every night. They showed us all that hard work, focus, teamwork, and loyalty will always keep you in the game.

It was a season that reminded us just how unpredictable and physically demanding this game can be. We ran into the realities that are always just one game, one move, or one hard foul away – injuries. Yet despite the injuries – which sidelined one or more starters for as much as two-thirds of the season, Coach Tom Thibodeau kept his players focused and ready to play. At the end of the 2011-2012 regular season, for the second time in two years, the Chicago Bulls reigned as the top seeded team in the Eastern Conference, with a remarkable opportunity to pursue the organization’s goal of a NBA championship.

And then in Round One, we were forced into one too many barriers to surmount. This season ended too soon and for us, like every Bulls fan, it felt a bit like a bad dream. We are disappointed, but we’re not going to dwell on what didn’t happen – we’re going to move forward.

We intend to take a few days to assess our injuries, assure our young team of our pride in their courageous performance, and begin the process of preparing for 2012-2013. This summer we will get healthy, stay focused, and dedicate ourselves to continuing our goal of competing – year in and year out – to be the best franchise on and off-the-court in the NBA.

Thank you, Bulls fans, for the incredible way you supported us this year. We felt it every day. You are the best fans in the NBA, and on behalf of the entire organization, we pledge to do everything we can to pursue a championship and to ensure you can always be proud to call the Chicago Bulls your team.

Sincerely,

Michael Reinsdorf John Paxson Gar Forman

If they really want to "pursue a championship", they need to realize this current squad they're going to assess isn't going to reach that goal.

Get rid of Watson, Korver, and Brewer. Find a way to get rid of Boozer. Bring in another shooter who can create his own shot. Give Butler a little more playing time, same goes for Gibson. Resign Thibs and bring in an assistant that has a bit more flare on the offensive end. Please and thank you, Bulls FO.

The Bulls offense needs talent...not "flare", no offensive flare will help...Ric Flair won't help...talent...

Not shooters...shooters that can't shoot straight when the playoffs start...(Korver anyone?)...legit, nba talent. Guys that can generate offense, especially someone that can self-generate offense is what the team needs.

I still think we should have given A.I. a chance for the minimum.

When have they not been in pursuit of bettering themselves and getting a title? Especially in the last few years?

They assembled a good team, I'll give them that. When healthy, we're pretty much a guaranteed ECF team. Much improved from the early 2000's, yes. But obviously this team without Rose can't really do anything. That's why everyone is clamoring for that secondary shot creator/playmaker. For everything that they've done, it seems that people for the most part are still discontent with the team. Perhaps we're all greedy jerks, but let's be honest, who doesn't want a championship for this team? Whether we're a true championship caliber team or not is still in the air. I want a team that is a legit contender for a title. Not a team that people question if they can last 6 or 7 games against the Heat. We've made moves to bring in solid talent, but not star talent. Star talent will put us over the top imo so that's the kind of move I'm hoping the front office makes. If they're serious about making a title run, they have to make that move.

I agree with you.

Think about how many times I have said the team needed a creator, and was told that the team was good as is...they were SOOOOOOO much better than last year. How many times did people inundate the forum with stats about team ppg and pace, etc?

I am disappointed in many Bulls fans...especially those who watched the Jordan Bulls. If you know what a title team is, how can you not see the missing components on this team? Yes, the team needs another creator. That would help them a lot.

Yes I am aware of how many times you've said we need a creator. I believe it's been virtually forever lol. And I agree with you. If we want a guaranteed shot at a championship...maybe multiple, we need another creator at least. A star would be fantastic, but a creator is probably the minimum we need. The problem lies in getting one, obviously or else we'd have one already. Realistically, we're looking at giving up Deng or Noah or both to get that player, whoever it is. They're probably the only true assets we have that'll get us that upgrade. No one's taking Boozer and no way Reinsdorf is ok amnestying him and having to pay his salary anyway. And again as you've said, everyone but Rose is expendable, but we'll see how much the front office is willing to give up.
