Matt Garza was scratched from Sunday’s start in the Interleague series finale against the Red Sox because of tightness in his right elbow. Who will start on Sunday will depend on who is used in Saturday’s game out of the bullpen. Mike Quade said it may be similar to a Spring Training game in which everyone chips in. Garza was to see team orthopedic specialist Dr. Stephen Gryzlo on Monday.

“He had a great side [session] two days ago,” Quade said. “They cut it short because they loved it. He felt a little tenderness yesterday, a little tightness today so we’re not taking a chance.”

The most likely option will be lefty James Russell, who threw three pitches in relief on Friday night in the series opener.
