I got my blue card on Dec 1st. Had enough terminal leave to have long hair and a full beard... cut it all since cause it drove me nuts... you can't go back I guess.
Best wishes and good luck to you... it's weird at first but I really don't miss it at all... been great to be home a lot... Good luck in NY... I chose AZ because I can't stand getting snow in my vagina... but that's just me.

I'm Not a big fan of snow either but this job opportunity is something I just couldn't pass up. Hopefully I will work for the next 12 years and then finally retire On a Hawaiian or Caribbean island at 56ish
