LOS ANGELES — Taj Gibson didn't practice Sunday after suffering what he called a pinched nerve in his right foot.

Gibson suffered the injury during slide drills at the start of practice and limped out of Staples Center.

"It's real sore," Gibson said. "I don't know if I'll be able to play Tuesday (against the Lakers), but at least we have two more days to let it heal."

Gibson, coming off a career-high 18 rebounds, sank the first 3-pointer of his career as part of his 17 points in Friday's big road victory over Dallas. He played through plantar fasciitis in both feet last season to join Brad Miller as the only Bulls to appear in all 82 games.

At least Boozer will be back in like 2 weeks, but this will hurt for now, if he can't play. I think he could miss this back to back, and come back on Friday. It's still early in the season, and I think he should rest to prevent further damage.

Waldos right tho..he needs to rest up in order to prevent further injury- the smart thing. And it is early in the season..I get butterflies just thinking of Boozer in. I cannot wait.

same. even if we are playing the lakers, id rather have him rest up. so when boozer comes back we will have a healthy taj and boozer.

i hate to say it but even if we had gibson healthy i dont think we can beat the lakers, they got size and alot of depth. but i was hoping to see how gibson comes out after that monster game he had.

If he misses the Lakers game that's a tough one anyway, it's the Suns game the next night that worries me, the Suns have no front court so it's a game you'd expect Gibson to be able to really contribute in. If we have to play small against the Suns it plays right into their style.

We're not beating the Lakers unless we have a night like the Knicks did and make everything we throw up, Taj or no Taj. Taj will just slightly lower the deficit.

I agree, kind of. We can't stop Kobe, b/c no one can. They can't stop Rose, b/c Fisher can't. If Kobe guards Rose, he's susceptible to fouls, and it leaves Fisher on someone like Korver. However, if Kobe guards Rose, and fisher's on Brewer...that means Odom guards Deng....which is prolly bad news.

Either way, this is an entirely different game when Boozer is in...b/c Pau and Odom would have to match up w/ Booze and Noah...which should be a wash. W/ or W/out Taj, the Lakers should have the advantage in the frontcourt.

The Lakers are without Bynum, so their front court is still great but only 2 deep. With Taj you figure there's at least a chance, the Lakers have been winning through pure offense thus far so if we could have a good defensive night you never know.

Well like Doug said in his podcast, we have a chance to beat anyone. We're playing really well, but I'm just not convinced that Taj is enough to give us an edge here. If we had Boozer in this game and Bynum was still out, I'd have a lot belief that we could pull off the upset. But as it is, I don't think Taj is enough for this game. With Odom being able to pull him all the way out to the perimeter plus his guard-like ball handling skills, I think it's just too much for Taj to handle, as good a defender as he is.

Well I think we know now that he will not be playing tomorrow..he isnt practicing today. Tomorrows game is going to be difficult...and Wednesdays game against the Sun (if we still don't have taj) may go well still. Their defense isnt that great and Noahs going to own the rebounds against Frye which is always a good thing.

Welp, Taj is game. Cross your fingers, and lets hope we don't see a flurry of injuries.
