The real question is, how much does he want and how much is the FO willing to dish out to keep him?

That's true, I wonder what dollar amount he is looking for.

Yeah, I'd definitely want to have Taj on the team long term. Hope they work out what they need to keep him on the team.

I wouldn't give him more than 8 million per-year. And that is at extreme most. If that is what he demands, trade him for a wing or two and go with Mirotic.

Forget you! Keep both Gibson and Asik and dump Boozer for a bag of chips.

I don't think anyone would give PaxGar a bag of chips for Boozer.
PaxGar may have to throw in there own bag of chips just to get someone interested.

Boozer to Phoenix for Frye, Childress's barf-inducing contract and Markeef Morris? Maybe?

The real question is, can Gibson be a + starter...b/c he's going to want between $7-10M year, I'd think.

I'm on the fence. That'd be a lot of money tied up at one position, especially if neither of them are above average all around

trade Boozer for josh smith..........Atlanta may consider it because the Hawks will never ever win an NBA championship anyway.

If Taj makes improvements in his offensive game, then he's def worth $8-10 mill. As of right now though, I wouldn't want him getting more than $7mill per.

A couple years back if I'm not mistaken he started at PF for most of the year and him and Noah played pretty good 2gether. Their defense and rebounding was really good.

The Hawks aren't going to trade an ATL native and one of the most exciting players to watch in the NBA (all they care about is selling tickets anyway- not winning a title) for Carlos "jump-shooting/no defense" Boozer.

Yeah I know, just a pure fantasy and speculation of mine.
The Hawks don't deserve him and still deserve punishment for trading Dominique Wilkens halfway through a season in which they were the favorites to get out of the East, and he played well for an oldman who spent 12 seasons with them trying to get a ring for there city as there best player even in old age.......And when he finally seems like he might actually get a ring, they dump him off to the worst franchise other than the Mavs at the time...the fucking Clippers..........And yeah they did get Punished by Danny Manning who they got in the trade for Wilkin because they didn't get no where in the playoffs and he left there ***** ass that summer.....I don't want to see this happen to Josh Smith......He defines what is is to be a Bull and Boozer defines what the Hawks are as an orginization.

ChiIllini said this as well, but his rookie year Taj was the starter. I think that's where a lot of us fell in love with him. The problem with Taj is that he's a great value for his contract right now, but at like 7M a year? Then you start to question it a little. We all know he's a defensive guy and a great worker, but once he gets that paycheck his offensive flaws are going to magically come more visible to everyone.

Now me personally, I'm down for keeping Taj and 7-8 or even 9 million if I know we're getting rid of Boozer as well. If possible, I'd say lock him up for max years on a frontloaded contract (sorta like we did with Hinrich back in the day) so people don't cry too much at the end of his contract. The important part for me though is that we get Taj locked up for as many years as possible. He's a valuable guy for us with his rebounding and defense and he's shown in the past that he could be a decent starter.
