I've mentioned this before but Glen Davis who was a 2nd round pick is already better than our "#2" pick Tyrus Thomas as evident tonight. The dude has a beautiful jump shot and plays solid defense.

Your absolutly right. However, I just say, don't read to far into that. When second round draft picks pan out, most of the time its a crap shoot. You can't deny that Tyrus has more "raw talent" hense his being drafted higher. But you are so right, it's depressing to see.

I disagree somewhat, if you look at the regular season per minute Tyrus is better. However I know you are looking at the playoffs and saying Big Baby has improved, true. But I think that is because Doc Rivers just can't take him out, which would be perfect for Tyrus in a long stretch. Also Big Baby has Garnett, Allen and Pierce to put him in place, who do the Bulls have to say look I'm way better than you listen to me. I guess you are right but lets be patient with Tyrus I would still rather have him.

Big baby looks like the guy who when he gets paid he will disappear.

I think this is highly likely. I won't discount the possibility that he's actually improved, but when he hurts teams it's just by taking wide open jumpers usually.

If you look at Bulls vs Celtics series, after the first game or two (when Powe actually did play), look at Big Baby's FGAs. Every game I saw like 15, 17, 18 Field Goal attempts.

WOW!!! That's a lot of attempts - we would kill Tyrus if he did that like 6-7 games in a row.

Here are his shot attempts:

15 FGAs - 1st game.
21 FGAs - 2nd game.
12 FGAs - 3rd game (Blowout)
16 FGAs - 4th game.
11 FGAs - 5th game (his lowest)
18 FGAs - 6th game
16 FGAs - 7th game

That's an average of 16 FGAs per game. THAT's Pretty darn a LOT - a lot like All-star type FGAs - very close to atleast.

Also, most of them were JUMPERS and the few that he did take within 2ft were assisted for Layups thus raising his FG%.

To add to that : Look at his FGAs vs a BETTER defensive team (Magic)

10 FGAs - 1st game
5 FGAs - 2nd game
6 FGAs - 3rd game
14 FGAs - 4th game (game winning shot).

Average of 9 FGAs.

That would be more like if for his normal - regular season average (possibly less).

So that's 7 LESS FGAs per game against the Magic - why??

IMO, the main reason was our whole defensive philosophy was to concentrate on JUST Pierce and Allen - we were also switching a TON - meaning mismatches everywhere and Rondo was like a Loose puppy - Perkins was also HUGE against us and our defense (or lack of) made Perkins/Big Baby/Rondo all star players and Allen and Pierce still got theirs (although not consistently).

Like I tell others, if we had same type of offense but had better defensive coach, we would have been in the 2nd round right now.

Our Defense (lack of) made those other 3 players really Star players.
