Nope. Room for growth. Plenty of it. RT @DewsSox79: @Kevin_Goldstein is what we are seeing from Viciedo in the mlb his ceiling?

I knew that. There's a lot he can improve. He needs to hit breaking balls better and be more disciplined at the plate. That will help him be a better hitter.

I'm not giving up on him. I don't like what I've seen and would like to see him get a little rest so Danks can get some work, but I know that he'll be a good hitter. Both Ramirez and Viciedo have that problem where they don't take pitches sometimes. That can be learned.

if he starts to be patient and not swing for the fences the less garbage pitches for Ks will be thrown and he will see more fastballs. im fine with him. 23 year old

at least Tanks plate discipline is improving a little unlike Alexei who couldn't buy a walk if he wanted it.

His biggest problem is that he hacks at everything, hacks on first pitch, and gets fooled so easily by breaking balls. All of that is fixable. He's got the raw talent.

Maybe not quite as much power as Vlad, but similar. I'm not worried at all.

But as I mentioned, I'd like to see him get rest. Ventura has been bad about giving guys rest. It's the same lineup every day almost.

against teams like KC and such I agree.

The guys that need rest are: viciedo, beckham, ramirez....they might benefit from it.

Exactly. A day of rest is good. Ventura has given rest basically only to AJ and he doesn't even do that very often. If this team is going to make a run late in the season and do something in the postseason, they'll need rest. There's nothing wrong with playing Danks or Hudson. I'd like to see him maybe not do it in the same game though.

Like one game this series have Danks and Flowers play and in the next one have Hudson and the normal lineup.

i applauded robin for starting hudson the other day. give beckham a breather. danks can fill in for all outfield spots. ramirez is a tough one though. olemedo at SS? :dunno: i also think youk should DH or get a day of every once in a while too.

Ramirez is tough just because SS is a hard position to play. Maybe play Beckham there?
