So Google DID release Kit Kat on a Google device first. Also, Google is merely the Android project maintainers and coordinators(hah, I say merely, but it's a large task). Android code makes up approximately 0.03% of the Linux kernel, and anyone could theoretically contribute enough to release an Android version before a Google company.

Moto is a Goog company BUT Nexus devices are marketed as absolutely being the first devices to be updated. Before GPE devices, or any carrier locked device.

It's not so much an improvement. Just a feature addition. Tweaked design, office application integration.

This.... people always want it first, get it in Alpha, or Beta, or V1 and then ***** about bugs and holes and shit.... and that goes for anything.... OS, Consoles, Games, Apps, etc.

But if you wait a little bit you lose nothing but time and later if said OS, Console, Game, App, etc is great and you jump in to it you still get all the benefits.

Tech is not a battle where if you wait and see, then jump in late you don't get your share of the glory lol

I don't see what the big deal is. Many people who own the Nexus 4 have already started getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update.

I loaded it on a $50 knock-off Chinese MTK phone. Some little tweaks, as usual, but nothing amazing. I like the small interface changes and the google called ID. I don't like the amount of bloatware is added by default. That just makes me want to spend more time romhacking, than actually using the device.
