So ive been using some old logitech z200 series for our 55" tv for years now since i use studio quality headphones on my pc... anything is better than the tv sound imo and those old cheap logitechs did the job. i just got the z623 and would recommend you did too if you dont care its 2.1

im in the process of upgrading our home theatre... i went looking for a receiver speakers etc but i saw the z623 on sale... did a tone test in the store and bought them... they are thx certified.......they literally shake and rattle the house... sure its only a 2.1 system.. but christ they are nice.. if you like bass.. its got plenty

2.1 systems are IMO the best overall. They are realistic and don't require high power draws or a hefty price tag to get an amazing upgrade. Those stupid sound bar systems, those are such a joke, but most people don't notice how pathetic they are, because they compare it to the cheap low-profile speakers found in their flatscreen TVs.

I did away with a 7.1 system years ago just because I was tired of having a less than mobile setup, if I wanted to re-arrange furniture without wires everyfuckingwhere, or to re-fish a clean setup. And no, wireless is still shit. But hay, what do I know, theater installations and audio engineering was only my career for a huge chunk of my life.

i thought i was the only one who didnt mind 2.1.. good to know a pro doesnt mind them... unless its sarcasm.....

i had a 5.1 years ago but it was annoying with all the wires... i never checked out the wireless options.. the wife wanted a sound bar.. i wanted a full set up but she was okay with the logitechs since weve had another set for years.. she thought it was a bit overkill once i busted a track from middle school (dj magic mike - feel the bass) and had the house rattling...

i could be like the guy in the vid below and put it in my ride instead..

I'm not being sarcastic at all.

A $250 2.1 System > $400 5.1 system. It's logistics and economics. And the best part is, you can build off a 2.1 system better than you can build off 4+ channel speaker setup. Once you get a decent preamp/amp, it's game, set, match however you slice it. Now, as far as logitech... well, I'm holding back there. Logitech is meh, it's not bad, but not great either. I wouldn't try to build off any logitech system, but if you really wanted to, nothing is stopping you, as they are lightweight enough to use in different configurations.
