Hey guys, I know how much you guys love your dog's because you talk about them a lot and have them in your sigs and what not. So I would like to know your opinion on grain free dogfood. I have a 12 year old Jack Russell that I love tremendously and I'd like to know if it would smart to switch her to grain free dry food?

For the last few years I've been feeding her a premium dry food from Agway as I was told by the owner of the store its great for dogs, but actually I did a review search of it today and it sucks.

So I'm in the market for a new food for my dog. I'm not rich so I have it narrowed down to Pure Balance food from Walmart. It rates very high in reviews and my sisters St. Bernard is doing really well on it. However he was raised on it. He's only 2 years old.

So could you guys provide any insight or advice on if I should switch her to grain free or just go with a Chicken and Brown Rice formula?

I use Blue Buffalo, Salmon and sweet potato, limited ingredients. I've tried the grain free but my dogs did not like it and for whatever reason one of them broke out with a hot spot. The Rachel Ray food is good too, I use that to switch it up a bit.

Does he look like this? You know that Ole69 has a really really fat dog that he doesn't want us to talk about. Makes him mad

Where can the Rachel Ray food be found?

How much does your sisters dog weigh? Mine hit 200 and could eat anything. We feed our dog Iams.

We feed our dogs a 50-50 mix of skoki (above average quality cheaper food) and varieties of Taste of the Wild (Top quality but relatively expensive). They both do really well on it and they love the taste. We used to use Canidae instead of Skoki. One day my dogs stopped eating those kibbles and would pick out the Taste of the Wild. I looked into it and they were bought out and went cheap on ingredients. Our local pet store even stopped carrying it. Switched it up and my dogs are happy again. I also put chondroitin and glucasamine pills in my older dogs food at night. They both get a squirt of salmon oil on their dinner as well. REALLY helps their coats and skin.

Regardless of what you choose, check out this forum for discounts.

I buy Natural Balance Bison and Sweet Potato. Supplement with salmon oil and fruits/veggies occasionally. Grain free because both my boxers are sensitive and shit cow flops otherwise. Have bought Orijen before too.

Dont buy cheap food.
