Another cubs blog, easily the best cubs blog around, takes a nice in depth look at the Aramis' season.

The Odd Season of Aramis Ramirez

Summary: Aramis was bad in April and May, has been Aramis Ramirez since. He could still opt out if he doesn't think the Cubs will contend in 2011.

I'm fine with it as long as the Ramirez we know and love shows up before August next year.

Bob Brenley doesn't, and some tribune **** wants him benched.

Really though, as that article showed, Aramis is fine. He would probably be smart to opt out if he thought he could at least get the money he would get here.

I don't think it's a sure thing he stays, no matter what he has said so far. If him and his agent think the Cubs won't contend next season, and that he can get paid more money by opting out, then that is what he will do.

I don't have any sources, but I've heard that Aramis will stay if he's "surrounded by good players". Which probably means Pena, Dunn, Crawford, etc. But he's probably just going to go wherever the pot of gold is.

Exactly, if him and his agent think the Cubs are going to make some moves and spend some money, he will probably stay. If they do shit like have Tyler Colvin play first and put Brad Snyder in right, Aramis will leave.
