So thanks to piratebay, I've seen most all of the bigger name movies and its starting to get hard to find things to watch.

What are some good movies (popcorn flicks too) that flew under the radar and tend to be overlooked?

Get yourself onto a private tracker like Cinemageddon or Karagarga would be my suggestion.

My favorite teams

  1. Atlanta United FC
  1. Los Angeles Lakers
  2. Orlando Magic
  3. Phoenix Suns
  4. Sacramento Kings
  1. Columbus Blue Jackets
Don't limit yourself to current movies. Here are a couple of truly great movies:

Paper Chase (Harvard law students grind through getting their degrees and one learns there may be something more important)

Little Big Man (alternative view on George Custer and life from the indian perspective)

Welcome to the world of wholesale internet piracy!

If you haven't seen them yet, I recommend:

Cool Hand Luke, any/all of the 'Dirty Harry' movies (Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, the Enforcer, Sudden Impact, the Dead Pool), the Thing (John Carpenter's version), the Evil Dead 2, Big Trouble in Little China, and (more recent) House of 1000 Corpses and the Devil's Rejects. Probably could think of more, if I wasn't inebriated.

If recent is not one of your prerequisites, have a look at Themroc, if you can find it.

Here are three very different movies depending on your mood.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower. 4/5

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1659337/

This is not an action movie. This is not a roaring comedy movie. (although we did laugh at times) This is not a chick flick. (although there is romance)

This movie is about a troubled freshman boy dealing with the demons of his adolescence while trying to find his place in high school / life. A very different kind of movie told in a very different kind of way.

Operation Petticoat (1959)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053143/
4 out of 5 stars

I was born in 1970 and as such haven’t viewed many movies prior to 1978. Operation Petticoat was recommended by a friend and I freely admit I was not too optimistic about the movie when the opening credits started to roll… my wife agreed to watch it under protest.

I was pleasantly surprised! We both laughed a lot during this movie and walked away happy that we decided to give it a chance. Grant was brilliant as the submarine commander and the back and forth with Toy Curtis was well done. My only criticism of the movie would be that the ending seemed rushed and too tidy, especially for Tony Curtis’s character.

If you find yourself looking for something different to watch give this movie a chance. We certainly enjoyed it!

Spies like Us 4.5/5

One of my all time favorite silly movies.

Catch 22 type of question. I don't know really what to suggest because of that. But one movie that I really loved and the few people that I know to have seen it loved, seems to NEVER reach discussion. Although it should be considered a classic that everyone watches once in their life.

Even if you hate Peter Sellers' style for his other films, this one should be a clear exception.
