What are some great NBA moments? I'll start by mentioning Tracy Mcgrady with 13 points in 35 seconds...

No NBA moment will top 6 three pointers in one half. During the Finals. Ever.

This has kind of turned into a "Michael Jordan highlights" thread, but that's OK because those were the greatest moments in NBA history! :)

Well you have Willis Reed in Game 7 of the 1970's final....

McGrady scoring 13 points in 33 seconds...

I would say Bargnani being the first international player selected #1 overall was a big moment in NBA history, Kwame Brown for that matter as well...

Magic Johnson in the all-star game after he retired.....

The Nuggets upsetting the Sonics in 94

Magic Johnson playing center in game 6 of the 80's final...

Wilt scoring 100....

Kobe scoring 83....

Anything that Jerry West did.

Those were all pretty impressive, but nothing anyone else did compares to anything Jordan did.

... Or Ditka did.

I'm not saying they are, just showing that this doesn't have to be a Jordan highlight reel.

Yao Ming was the first non-US collegiate International player to be drafted #1(Hakeem was the first US collegiate international drafted #1, and Myke Thompson was the first foriegn born player to go #1.)
Kobe scored 81, not 83.

Besides that, while I wasn't adding Jordan moments, I too get your point. :)

How about another Chicago Bulls feat, pre-Jordan? NBA's first *recorded* Quadruple-Double by Nate Thurmond in 74. :) That would have been something to see.

Larry Legend's bricked/blocked layup, then the ball is knocked out with 5 seconds left only for him to steal it back and pass in to Johnson for the win against Detroit in the 87 ECF. I didn't hate the Pistons back then and I wanted them to win this series, but wow, that was impressive shit.

New York is up by 6 on Indiana with 19 seconds left, and Reggie Miller scores two 3s in 5 seconds in the 98 playoffs to tie the game and take it into OT. Talk about a moment.

Does anybody else believe that Kyle Korver should be used as a prop in the dunk contest?

I didn't think Hakeem was drafted first, but I was actually thinking foreign players who didn't have their previous playing experience in the United States. Both Hakeem and Thompson played college ball in the states, I was talking about Euro teams - so yeah Yao Ming would have been first. I honestly just had the dates mixed up.

As far as the mistake with Kobe - I smoke a lot of pot.
