The most notable people in my High School class were a couple guys who played about 3 minutes of football in the Big Sky Conference as well as a girl who made the swim team at the University of Houston.

Oak Hill Academy in Virginia is a slightly different story. Listen to just some of their alumni...

Carmelo Anthony, Michael Beasley, Rod Strickland, Ron Mercer, Kevin Durant, Stephen Jackson, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Josh Smith, Rajon Rondo, Jerry Stackhouse...

I think it's safe to say this is the greatest High School alumni ever.

At my school one of the guys on the basketball team was 6-8" and everyone acted like he was a celebrity even though he averaged 5 points a game. Imagine going to class with Carmelo Anthony or Rod Strickland...

Now that would be cool.

I don't think my high school has ever had any pro athletes, but we had some damn good athletes within our conference.

John Clay, the Big Ten offensive player of the year, went to one of inner city rivals. He was the top ranked prospect in the nation after his Junior year of high school. He had a bad senior year, and dropped to like the 9th prospect in the nation, or somewhere around there. I think he's one year older than me. It's kind of weird that he had a bad senior year, because people were afraid to hit him hard, because they didn't want to be the one who injured him and ruined an assured NFL career, so you think that would have played into him having a big season. He didn't play terribly, but he broke about every state rushing record his junior year, so people were expecting a lot more.

Tony Romo also went to one of the high schools in our conference.

Caron Butler is the best basketball player from our city. He only played 1 or 2 seasons at the same high school that Clay went to. He spent a lot of his youth in jail, got nabbed up by the basketball coach at the high school, and then after 1 or 2 good seasons, he got nabbed up by some prep school.
