great pitcher. I was a kid watching him pitch for the cubs. I remember being bummed when he went to the braves. i know his best years were with the braves but I see him only in a cubs uni. he will probably retire in a braves jersey though

Just goes to show how people and the 'curse' are stupid.

This team has been mismanaged for a very long time. This is just a recent move that hurts more.

Sooner or later the cubs have to get it right, dont they?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
And to think he dominated hitters from the steroids era. One of the greatest pitchers ever! Very deserving of the hall of fame.

As a kid growing up he was my favorite pitcher, and second favorite Cub only behind Mark Grace. Glad he made the HOF guy deserved it.

Oh, me too, I was a bit older, but yea, I have vivid memories of his cy young year as a Cub, plus we had Bruce Sutter as a Cub right around the same time as well, his splitty was a thing of beauty to watch. To bad he will go into the Hall as a Brave.

It's all in his Johnson. I'd imagine any of us would gain weight if you had to haul around something that big.

“My wife Kathy and I grew up in baseball in Chicago, and then we had just an amazing experience in Atlanta with the Braves. It's impossible for me to choose one of those teams for my Hall of Fame plaque, as the fans of both clubs in each of those cities were so wonderful. I can't think of having my Hall of Fame induction without support of both of those fan bases, so, for that reason, the cap on my Hall of Fame plaque will not feature a logo.” - Greg Maddux

That doesn't sound dumb to me at all... Maddux loves all of his fans... :)
