I believe everyone thinking they were EVH is what killed it. Grunge's sin would be making way for all the post-grunge garbage that polluted the airways during the mid-late 90s/early 00s, but it was still the last great era in rock.
Anyway the question is depressing considering how much death has plagued it. Skating Polly is dope though!

It is pretty bad- Chris cornell was the last one I paid attention to. My lady loved soundgarden and we saw a few shows of his.
In retrospect, it wasnt as bad as I thought it was when I was a kid- but I was deep in to metal and the shredders so at the time I shit all over the genre.
.... that and the fact that as a horny teen, it sucked seeing the ladies go from mini skirts an tight jeans to baggy pants and long flannels.
You know- priorities.
