With it seeming like the Blackhawks are done making moves, post your ideas on what YOU THINK will be the lines opening night!

Assume that Frolik and Campoli DID re-sign

I also see Kruger and Stalberg beeing the 2 switched out for each other often...

Q should play the hot hand with these 2 IMO

I agree with what was stated above in the first post but I don't think Bolland and Bickell will be on separate lines. They played together a good bit last year and I think they'll be on the 3 together.

I also have a creepy feeling they're going to split Keith and Seabrook this year to give us one A player on each D line. After watching the Sabres-Flyers series and realizing that Montador could lose sight of a gorilla in a phone booth, I think there's no way anyone in their right mind could be comfortable with Campoli and Montador on a line together. Montador had more penalties than plays in that series. We might as well have me and Cam Barker...

And I still have a sneaking suspicion that Smith is a playmaker and will end up on the first line when it's all said and done. Gives us a little more punch down the lines with Brunette too...

Carcillo has a 2 game suspension to start the season, doesn't he? (It sort of messed with my lines...).

That being said... say all things being equal: (presumes Frolik and Campoli sign, no injuries or trades)

I got:

Carcillo Toews Kane
Brunette Sharp Hossa
Bickell Bolland Frolik
Mayers McLean Smith

If Frolik is elsewhere -add Olesz there

Keith Montadore
Leddy Seabrook
Hjalmarsson Campoli

If Campoli is elsewhere - add O'Donnell

Crawford and backup (maybe Salak, maybe an as of yet unsigned cheap vet free agent).

----

Ok, well make mine a game 3 lineup -- noticed that Quenneville was into putting a big guy on the top line in 2009-10 -even playing Bickell there during the playoffs (didn't appear to work- but maybe it might now).

Now whether I think Carcillo will stick on the top line, that is another question -but I get the idea that Quenneville will be toying with that idea - to see if that can create some room for Toews/Kane ... althugh too -after watching a couple of 2009-10 playoff game dvd's yesterday - he switches out wingers all of the time... it is somewhat of a moot point -as his lines are created by situation... done on the fly if you will.

Carcillo on the 1st line? Interesting...would be nice to have him out there protecting tazer and kane.

You McLean will make the club? I see him being in Rockford/emergency filler for an injury

Love your D pairings...

Salak will be the backup...99% sure Bowman said as much

Actually I don't have a 4th line center --- Mayers can take faceoffs and still play wing ... or another 4th line center. I imagine they take a look at McLean unless he shows nothing at all in pre-season, but I imagine long term he might well be in the AHL for majority of next season.

Ideally I wouldn't mind Johnson back there again or Madden... if the team is serious about signing Frolik and Campoli -then this might depend upon how much that costs. I imagine that they have enough to spend on a guy at about a million or less and still keep flexibility for a in-season trade.

It seems like that is what this offseason has been geared for. Now it makes me wonder if there is a list of the potential RFAs/UFAs for next season - as maybe they are interested in adding one of those guys during the season.

If Bowman says he wants money for in-season, he is either targeting a specific player, or just wants the ABILITY to trade if he can..

I think its the latter

My vision of the potential first two nights:

Sharp-Toews-Kane
Brunette-Kruger-Hoss
Bickell-Bolland-Frolik
Stalberg-Mayers-Olesz

Then I think Kruger will be seen as unready and dropped to the AHL and Carcillo comes back and Sharp moves to center to start a revolving shifting window of limited opportunity for players to shine in the top 6

Wow, our center depth sucks major ass.

If Bolland goes down again, we're in trouble.
