More and more, he's becoming the basketball equivalent of Lou Holtz. They're both guys who at one point in time were extremely reliable and preceptive of their respective sports, but can no longer relate meaningfully to the current environment of said sports.

More importantly, will Noah ever be able to dunk a ball again?:(

My God I hope so.

It's time for Smith to retire. There's no way Taj is better than Evans, Curry, or Jennings. He should definitely be All Rookie 1st Team without a doubt, but ROY, that's quite the stretch.

I agree, if he keeps up he could land on the 1st rookie team.

today i saw darren collison ranked at #3 for ROY.

these are his numbers as a starter: 17.9 ppg, 46% fg, 8.2 ast, 3.9 reb, 4 fta's at 86% made, 40% 3pt (almost 4 attempts per game), 1.6 steals, 4TO, 37 min. the team is .500 in games he starts, including wins against boston and atlanta.

if he was starting on another team, i think hed take rookie of the year, if not a very close second to tyreke evans. although, tyreke has been starting for the kings all year, and theyre nowhere near .500

im starting to really like this ucla kid, he must be learning all kinds of stuff from the best pg in the game today.

with all that said, im not sure taj is anywhere near ROY status, although he has far exceeded all expectations thus far and already plays like a veteran. a guy like him will always have a place in the league

I always wondered if upcoming stars like Rose ever take advantage of more established people?

Like Rose should be talking to MJ about how to become a more effective scorer, learn the ins and outs of high post game ( I was so happy seeing Rose posting up Boykins he should do more of that).

Rose could spend time in the summer training with Paul learning about how he controls the games, when to score and when to get teammates involved etc...

I think that would be awesome for Rose. MJ spends most of his time in Chicago so I wouldn't think it would be to much trouble.

I've been loving Taj's production this year, but if even a single ROY vote goes to him then it's a crime. Evans, Curry, and now even Collison are playing much better. It just shouldn't happen.

Its evans by a mile. Taj shouldn't be in the discussions, though with blair tappering off, blake out and taj emerging at the right time, he should be on the 1st team.

LOL

Lou Holtz is such a clown now. I don't read Sam that much (because I think Bulls.com is worthless, along with any other league/team-run sites) but I'm surprised to hear it's that bad.

I'm really surprised that Sam hasn't tried to trade Pippen for Maronotti and a writer to be named later.

Bulls.com has really improved the website with the game chats they hold, tons of interviews from swirsk, top plays from week, and sam previewing the games for week and then analyzing the games

I've got to hand it to Sam though, for an old guy he sure has cottoned on to this internet thing. There are journalists half his age who don't realise you've got to say crazy stuff to drive those page views. Sam is pretty much a master, I mean Taj for ROY is crazy, but just on the borderline of sanity such that you can't be 100% certain that he's being insincere.
