ESPN commentator and former Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti has gone under contract to sell his four-bedroom, 4,200-square-foot house in Vernon Hills just weeks after placing it on the market for $655,000.
Mariotti, who was arrested Saturday on suspicion of felony domestic assault after allegedly pushing and shoving his girlfriend, moved to Los Angeles last year and lives in the city's Venice neighborhood, according to reports.
On July 15, Mariotti listed the 10-room brick house for $655,000. Just 11 days later, he cut the asking price to $614,500, and a day after that reduced its asking price further, to $610,000. It went under contract on Aug. 3.
Built in 1993, the house has three baths, a two-story family room with a fireplace, a two-story foyer, a library with built-ins, a patio off the dining room, a deck off the family room, a master suite with a 22-foot-by-13-foot walk-in closet, and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, an island, a walk-in pantry and a granite bar.
