Fire turned 15 today.

In 15 years, we've won 1 MLS Cup and 4 U.S. Open Cups, and now we look for our sixth total Cup in the coming months!

Already more decorated than some teams in other sports that have been around several times as long.

No offense but winning in the MLS is to soccer is a lot like winning a "superbowl" in the Canadian Football League.

False, not possible to win a "superbowl" in the CFL, they call it the Grey Cup.

Love how you make a piece of shit analogy in the first place then you have no idea what you are comparing it to.

Just leave, now, you already look dumb enough.

No reason to take it SO personally. And I didn't call it a superbowl- I called it a "superbowl" in kind of a mocking way. And that is because it is a little ridiculous to compare the championships in the MLS to that of the highest levels of competition in soccer. The MLS is still far behind the quality of competition internationally. You cannot put a Fire championship at the same breath as a Bulls/Bears/Blackhawks/Whitesox championship.

Who gives a shit about how other leagues in other countries compare? A championship is a championship. Winning the MLS Cup means being the top soccer club in the US and Canada.

And no shit we haven't caught up yet, the league is only in its 17th season now.

Doesn't matter at all though.

Major League is an economic concept, not a talent concept, and the league isn't all that bad talent-wise and the improvement is more and more noticeable every year. We've also passed a good majority of Euro leagues to the point where we are easily comparable to Eredivisie.

It is absolutely on same level as World Series or Super Bowl in terms of accomplishment. You are still just the best in the US (and Canada in MLB's case), and while no other comparable leagues exist (NPB baseball is more AAAA), you still only beat out the teams from the US (and Canada in MLB's case) either way.

I wasn't trying to knock the MLS. I am glad that the U.S. has a league and it has improved in talent and competition since it arrived on the scene. My main issue here is comparing MLS Cups to NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB championships. I'm not saying that winning a championship in a professional sport isn't an accomplishment to brag about. Actually, when I saw your sig, my original thought was that was unfair to weigh in Chicago's MLS titles in the "count" because it is unfair to other cities. It probably wasn't a point worth bringing up and, for that, I apologize.

I get what you're trying to say man. No big deal, maybe I came off aggressive, but wasn't meant that way.

It is actually fair to a ton of other cities though.

I mean, 17 other cities have MLS teams (LA has 2), and while the Fire have been among the most successful, it is the same thing as not counting the Yankees for NY because it is unfair to other cities that haven't had as good of MLB teams. Perhaps a better example would not counting be the Celtics and their streak of what was it, like 7 or 9(?), championships in a row because the NBA didn't have too many teams yet.

And my sig wasn't meant to compare to other cities anyway haha.
