For those of you who don't know(shame on you), today is June 9th 2011, the one year anniversary of the cup coming home, and the one year anniversary of the start of the best summer of my life. Just remembering that feeling after realizing what we just did still gives my chills. Here's to doing it again soon.

What a great day that was and the whole week after. Totally awesome. I can still see Leighton looking back and it dawning on me Kane had scored. What a great thing that was.

God I loved that team!!!!! Words can not describe how much I loves that team!!!!

But you gotta post Widemans call if you are going to post a call lol. Hughson half assed it because he was still pissed off the Canucks were knocked on their asses and knocked out. And how great was it for my boy Ladd to be on the ice and in the shot when the puck goes in the net...not to take anything away from he who scored the goal..loves yah Kaner.

And god I still laugh my ass off at this parody..I don't know why it cracks me up so much every time I watch it. Just sounds sooo perfect.

You beat me to it I was about to post the radio feed. The joy he shows when he realizes the Hawks win is hilarious. That team was so awesome, man it would have been awesome to keep it together. But that was still a sweet year totally worth it even it was just for that year.

Gave a Canuck fan a little grief this moring and he countered that the BlackHawks areout of the playoffs. I told him "We are still reigning Stanley Cup Champions and you are not."

Happy Anniversary everyone. It's great to relive the memories and to look to next season with hope in our hearts of creating more.

I was on the Canucks boards last night and they had a thread called Chicago Blackhawks. They were comparing themselves to us from last year. I rolled my eyes. Of course, they claim the difference is that Chicago had a completely healthy team unlike them. Oh and we had it easier cause Tim Thomas wasn't the Flyers goalie.

What a great moment for all of us Hawks fans. 49 years of sadness and frustration lifted after the greatest goal no one saw.

With that said....

Let's hope we don't celebrate a lot of anniversaries.

No kidding, I'd rather not celebrate anniversaries because of a better celebration. That said last year will always be special, first time one of my teams won anything and breaking the drought. Although winning again would feel great, nothing will ever compare to the first one.

In my case, my second Cup win was better than the first... and this time, it united a large city. Sure, the first one was sweet, and I won't forget it, but there's a big difference between 40,000 people and 2+ million celebrating with you, let alone for an entire week. I'll never forget it.

The hours are waning.

Chicago Blackhawks!

Stanley Cup champions.

All of you better say it before the cup is handed off to the new winner tonight.
