Its not even so much the lyrics to the song, which are quite horrible, but the fact she sucks at singing. When she says "friday, friday, friday" its like nails on a chaulkboard.

I liked Miley Cyrus's comment on this ***** "It should be harder to become an artist" While I agree with you Miley, who are you kidding, you think If Daddy was a gas station attendant instead of a country music singer you would be enjoying the success you have today? You'd probably be knocked up living in a trailer.

It's a 13 year old girl who had her parents buy her this production package. I'm pretty sure it was never intended to be the next pop hit. It just happened to hit the right peoples ears and quickly become an internet meme, as is with most memes.

I do have to give her some props for getting in on the joke. Pretty funny.

Adults bitching about a song intended for 11-14 year old girls is the funnest thing about the music industry.

"artists" like Bieber and this... what ever her name is... have always existed in the music industry. When Disney has it's own recording label it is bound to happen.

Not sure what the point is getting worked up about these things to be honest.

There is music out there for everybody. Do you really think 11 year olds are ready for anything deeper than this type of music? It's nice to think that maybe they are but they aren't!! Their lives are about cute boys and girls, popsicles and spending mom and dads money. This music relates to them.

While it is true that real artists suffer at the hands of garbage like this the reality is those who spend the big money on music are not going to buy anything other than this poppy stuff. If you try to sell em something deeper it won't work. It's like me trying to sell a young kid a piece of abstract art when what they really want is a poster of a fucking unicorn.

But yah at least young kids are listening to music even if it is "junk". Exposure to music is the main thing. Once someone matures and their tastes change then enter the more sophisticated and artistic music that comes with life experiences etc etc. That happens all the time. So at least a seed is being planted. I highly doubt anyone here didn't listen to some real youthy poppy crap when they were younger.

This may be "hipsterish" of me. But there is some excitement in discovering new music on your own through indy labels or other venues. Instead of letting the corporate giants try to tell you what you should like (and hey if you like what they are selling that's good too..I know I like plenty). One does have the freedom to find new artists on their own. How great has the internet been for that? It's part of the overall experience. What makes the arts so god damn fun.

Ok. She doesn't have a record deal. She's just has rich parents. The company (ark music) puts together writing a song, recording it, advertising and making a video for all around $5,000. If you go to that channel you can see a bunch of other videos like the same. Just for exposure. she did make around $20,000 just from YouTube ad revenue though.

Yea 11-14 year olds should be worried about getting their faces caked with makeup getting dressed up like adults to drive down the interstate to a club to get drunk and do blow and ecstasy.
