Bollig takes Stalbergs spot... how is that working for ya?!

Jeremy Roenick said before the series started that you don't take (arguably) the fastest player in hockey who has solid skill with the puck, off the ice for a guy that doesn't play in the regular season for 75% of the games...

Awful coaching? Or is Stalberg just a really big problem because he asked to play more minutes and get some power play time?

Because to me it looks like Stalberg just wants to play more because he thinks he can help?

Thoughts... would love to hear em...

Preaching to the choir. Only a few guys on here that thought that Bollig was an acceptable choice. Q just likes to try to make himself look smart. Unfortunately, most of the time, the ideas he comes up with end up being just the opposite of smart.

Are you really shocked that some meatball would suggest that?

I probably shouldn't be, but, oh well. I just hope to God it was a caller and not the Score's on-air personality. Although, given the lack of intelligent hockey discussion in the Chicago sports radio scene, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I loved JR as a player but if he actually said that, then he is completely unknowledgeable about what Stalberg is as a player. Is he fast? Hell yeah, he's fast...might be the fastest player on the team. Solid skill with the puck....uh, heh....well that would be a real stretch of the facts. Its pretty much the reason why he doesnt play more, why he's not a top 6 forward and why he spends time in the press box. He's prone to giveaways handling the puck or passing it....his shot is mediocre at best and worse, he occasionally is a passenger out there. That being said, I'd still rather take my chances with him than a guy like Bollig. But I fully understand why Q does not.

I didn't say he was a great puck handler or anything... but he did have 9 goals and 14 assists... Bolland had 7 goals 7 assists and cant win a faceoff... Saad had 10 gaols 17 assists and had 2x as much playing time and was on the first line...

he was playing with Bryan Bickell who also had 9 goals and 14 assists... say what you want... the stats done lie... this guy is getting fucked around...

He is the fastest guy on the team... he is used for getting into the offensive zone, chasing down dumped passes, and finding flaws in defenses when they are lazy or cheat up...

this guy had 22 goals last year and would have likely repeated that this year with a full season... you are gonna take a 20 goal scorer off the ice... just plain old stupid... and by far a better player than people are giving him credit for...
