With family in the mountains and I do not have to cook a single thing!

Had ribs and sides for dinner tonight! Zucchini bread and pecan pie.

Tomorrow shooting for breakfast and then turkey dinner!

Deep fry the turkey. Only way to go. A day with my children, grandchildren and close friends and family. The second favorite day of the year for me.

Happy Thanksgiving all

I have never had deep fried turkey before. My family has never made it and I am a horrible cook. Now I am depressed.

Deep frying my first Turkey tomorrow and super stoked on it. Only weird thing I did was a inject only half the bird for a taste test and the rest is a poultry/cajun rub. There are a lot of funny you tube videos on what to do and what not to do so I feel good about it. Bird is resting now but will be frying up sometime during the Dallas game with family and friends. Happy Thanks Giving!

Happy thanksgiving to all you whackjobs. Will add another vote for deep frying a turkey. I don't do it at home, yet, but that's how we do it for our thanksgiving dinner at work. My home bird is brining now and will have a very healthy dose of Amish butter plopped inside and sprinkled with plenty of other seasoning.

Deep frying my 2nd bird this year. Hosting the parents at my place for the first time. Plan to drink a lot of beer and watch some football. Have a good one, everybody!

Thanks, you too.

No turkey here, more of a ham guy.

Picked up a honeybakedham this year for Mrs Sheep. Still got some turkey too. Only thing I have to cook this year is the potatoes au gratin.

Happy thanksgiving to everyone.

Happy turkey day everyone.

I'm making all the regular sides for the most part. I'm doing a nontraditional turkey though, done it before and it's delicious.

In a sauce pan(or gravy pan, whichever you prefer)...grate a big root of ginger, add 3/4 cup of orange juice, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, and about a half cup of brown sugar. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper, cracked black pepper, a couple minced cloves of garlic(or if you're a lazy Special person just pour in some garlic powder). Simmer until it thickens a bit, remove from heat. Lather that shit all over, and under the skin of the bird and pop it in the oven. With the remaining sauce, baste as normal.

It comes out like a mahogany, candied, masterpiece. If you don't have the courage to do it on turkey day, try it later with a whole chicken. Shitz dope.

That explains a lot.

I'll be going against the grain today, going to a restaurant for a seafood buffet (turkey, ham, and the other usuals will be available as well).
