We came to Roatan for a Sunday to Friday trip to celebrate our 20th anniversary. What an amazing island!

We found our place to stay on trip advisor. The Beach House, west end, Roatan.

The snorkeling is the second best I have ever seen, with only the Great Barrier Reef being better. We are heading out for another day of snorkeling but I will try to post some pics tonight

I have a hard time getting out of bed most days because jumping and being a beast of burden isnt what the human body was designed for. Neck, shoulders, back, knees, & one ankle all have damage. During the VA evaluations they found out my optic nerves are damaged and I have pigment dispersion (syndrome?) meaning that glaucoma is in my future. Im now a dirty gov contractor now and as it turns out that I still hate getting up at 4am.

Soooooo..... its all about what a person decides to focus on.

I have a great wife. Still able to swim without pain. A nose for travel deals. Doubled my income since retiring from the USAF.


I'm not gonna lie, life is good

Looks nice. I've been thinking about going somewhere in the next few months, will add it to the list of possibilities. Do you fly into Honduras or Belize and then ferry over? Or do they have an international airport on the island? Can't wait to get my sailboat and disappear for months at a time.

They have an airport that we flew from Houston directly to. RTB. The two areas of the island to stay in IMO are west bay or west end. In West Bay my choice would be Infinity bay resort & in West End I would stay where we did -Roatan Beach House.

If you aren't a diver I would recommend getting certified for this trip. I met a guy who was on his 8th dive trip to Roatan and still loves coming back. My next trip there will be to dive.
