Today is World Turtle Day.
From Wikipedia:
"The purpose of World Turtle Day, May 23, sponsored yearly since 2000 by American Tortoise Rescue, is to bring attention to, and increase knowledge of and respect for, turtles and tortoises, and encourage human action to help them survive and thrive."
"Turtle Day is celebrated worldwide in a variety of ways, from dressing up as turtles to saving turtles caught on highways, to research activities."
We owe are deepest thanks to our very own hero, Spunky Porkstacker, who rescued two turtles on a highway last week and saved them from certain death and painful torture. You're the man, Spunky. You are a man, right? I can't help but think that Stu would be really proud of you and hope she sees this. She seems to have such a big heart for the creatures of the world. And they are beautiful exotic creatures.
Hope everyone will take part in this day by thanking Spunky and telling your favorite turtle stories and posting turtle pictures. And nobody better be posting a picture of a box of turtles. I know how your minds work.
All we need now is for someone to wear a turtle suit.
