I now have to log in to view threads, where in the past anonymous access was always granted to read threads.

I have also noticed that the site is much slower since this change.

Really hate having to log in, not going to save credentials, and the slowness stinks too.

The change was made in response to the slowness, so it is not the cause. It's a temporary measure. If you want more details you can ask Crys. In the meantime, just log in.

To add on to this, I have to log in like 20 times throughout the day. Is there like a 5 min expiration?

Nothing was changed as far as sessions, but you can click 'remember me' on login.

It logs you out much sooner than it used to if you don't click remember me. It has changed, dramatically.

It used to be a half hour or an hour of inactivity before you were automatically logged out. Now it does it in about 10 minutes, sometimes even sooner.

There is a session setting, that is an exact time that works in the cookie between the server timestamp. Right now it is at 3200 seconds, which is something like 53 minutes.

The only other thing I can think of, is when I have been working on the server and reboot the machine. But I only reboot once yesterday and once a week ago.

That might explain it, although it has happened more than a few times.

No activity for me for about 30 mins and still logged in.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't think I was ever clicking Remember Me (because it was not as bothersome having to log in so often), I will do that moving forward.

Has it been working right for you now? I've been rewriting chunks of code and reconstructing images all over the site/server just to get tiny bits of performance increases all around. If there is some session issue, I'm going to have a lot more digging to do.

must be the facebook twitter youtube redirect block of code... i never noticed that crap before.. maybe its always been there and ive only noticed it since the page takes forever to load..

if i log in it starts to speed up after awhile. if i dont.. its not very responsive and i cannot read any threads
