Has anyone ever played fantasy basketball with a salary cap?

I read an article that Bill Simmons wrote about it and it seemed interesting. I never played it.

But it's cool. Do you risk drafting great players with big contracts but end up having shitty bench players, or do you draft a bunch of average players with decent contratcs but have a lot of depth?

Simmons said in his league, guys like Kobe are free agents for the whole season because he takes up like 35% of the cap. hahaha

I never have but I'd be down to try it. The more realistic the better.

They had something like that at Whatif sports, but I never got into it.

But I wouldn't know why it's a good idea, because you have players that are on rookie contracts and such.

In the article, it said those are the players that are takin in the first round. They're basically the MVP's, while guys like Kobe, Amar'e, Carmelo, etc. usually never get drafted.

And if you're playing in a keeper league, evetually you'll have to let guys like Rose go because of the money he'll be making

I know exactly what you're talking about. He has discussed it before in his podcasts. The greatest value would be for young players with low contracts. I would love to do that for baseball. Some like AROD wouldn't even get drafted.

ya a guy like Kobe normally goes really late. Like in online associations in nba 2k when guys like KKobe go really late.

I normally just take teams already built not doing a draft. I have the Pacers and the Blazers in mine. We even got to use the amnesty clause.
