So will you forgive me for still not jumping back on watching "The Wire" if I tell you I just got completely sucked into this show the last couple of days?

Loved it!

Everytime I thought I knew the story was going, it makes a hard left turn....and this was every other episode. Cannot recommend it enough and may be Jim Carrey's best role yet. I will probably end up signing up for the free 30 day trial of Showtime just so I can watch Season Two.

There is something very comforting about watching the equivalent of Mr. Rodgers having an emotional breakdown. It just completely normalizes the experience for literally everyone.

But if you want to watch drug dealers kill each other over the same shitty parts of Baltimore instead...I am sure it will be every bit as emotionally fulfilling in a completely homicidal kind of way.

I got taken to that Circus club by some rappers three or four lifetimes ago. We got all settled in and I hear someone say:

"Man, who brought this shaggy white boy up in here?!?"

The guy I was sitting next to turns around and shoots back:

"This man right here is from Madagascar and therefore is twice the (N Word) you will ever be!"

And no one questioned it. A couple of the dancers started even asking me about growing up in Madagascar.

I passed through Baltimore a handful of times, but that was my only "a night in Baltimore" experience.

Booty Brown & Fatlip from the group The Pharcyde. This was back during the '95 Lollapalooza tour that I worked on and those guys were impressed with my tastes in Hip Hop so they swore we would "hit the town" at some point on the tour.
