Just wanted to share...

So I have an awesome dog, her name is Hailey.... Anyways, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer about 7 months ago.... We have been watching her diet, giving her pain meds, piroxicam(for inflammation), we tried chemo, but it was worse when she was on it. We were at a point that, it's all about her comfort. Mind you she is only 8, which is very sad.

Anyways... Everyday her pee got less and less, thinking UTI so on a course of antibiotics off an on, about every 6 weeks. She's taking Tramadol, and the piroxicam, then having the antibiotics, appetite enhancer....

Got to the point we are taking her out every couple hrs for her to pee about 2 tablespoons.

Starting last night, BOOM she peed like a 1/2 cup... Unreal, haven't seen that for months. Not just once, but 2 more times the next 8 hrs... I do some research and what I find if she also most likely has bladder stones. I need to get the PH down....

I try to get the wife to understand wee need to give her a supplement of 50mg's a day of vitamin C to lower her PH......

She wants to wait for her next visit.... Just want to break something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways... **** her, when she's not looking going to give it to her, only side affect is diarrhea if it's too much...

Just had to vent, thanks for reading!!!

Sorry to hear about your dog, but sounds like you may have some promising news. Wouldn't the vet have noticed stones though?

No, she does have cancer, but looks like some other issues too... I wish she didn't, but it is what it is... I was real close to euthanizing 3 days ago, but it looks like we may have at least a few more weeks.

You always know it's time when the tail stops wagging.

Best of luck. That's a tough situation.

Really, this is the normal man, woman relationship. We want to fix things and they want to stop us from breaking them.

Sorry to hear about the pooch. My wife was so heartbroken over the last one, we're still without.

So Hailey went for a check today. The vet is saying probably a piece of the tumor broke off and she peed it out. We did check he pee for PH and it did test a 6.8. Found out more about that that good is between 6.0 and 6.9 for dogs and healthy. So we don't think it was a stone. Blodd test showed liver and kidneys still functioning well....

Thanks from all for the support though.

Sad day today, the pup is still ok... 8 yrs ago we found a Momma cat and 3 kids underneath the overhang in the back yrd... Unfortunately had to put one of the kids down last week.... The sweetest animal I have ever been around. Bear was his name and he would talk to you all day if you let him... Well we picked up his ashes today and it's sad..... Just wanted to share....

Sorry to hear this. It's even worse when they have a "personality".
