For Scuderi. Not sure if anything else was included, will update when more info is available.

Edit: appears no more compensation, just a straight up exchange. Sounds like a win to me.

My take on it is the Kings contacted us, seeing a former player sitting in Rockford.

Doughty had played 30 minutes 4 games in a row, and there was talk about tiring him out before playoffs.

Similar to us getting Ladd, they don't have to teach Scuderi their systems. They can just plug him in an rest the top guys some for playoffs.

If we really get this guy off the books, its great news. I don't have a huge problem with Scuderi like some, I just think we have a fresh young wave of ascending blue liners and he isn't a great fit.

"Hawks retaining 50% of their portion of Scuderi's contract (Pens had previously retained 33%) and LA is retaining 15% of Ehrhoff's contract."

No idea what that works out to without looking it up.

Hawks still have 33.5% of Scud's contract on the books. Does that mean for this year only? or do they have to pay it next year too?

You retain the entire length of a contract when you retain on it.

But it is slightly cheaper than burying him down & if anyone could convince Scuds to end the season retiring it may be a team he was great with in the Kings. If he retires then chicago and Pit are off the hook.

So the plan is to injure Hossa, so he's out until game one of round 1.
This evil plan gets better by the moment.

1.125 mil on no one is better than Bickell wallowing in the minors. Doesn't anyone want Bicks?
Come on Toronto, pull the trigger.

If I was Toronto I would ask for a 3rd round prospect per million they eat. 2 3's = a 2nd. 3 a 1st. Etc.

Its tough to gauge what eating 1 million for somebody is worth these days. I hope we find out, but I'm afraid it will cost a young defenseman or higher draft pick/picks than we will swallow easily.

The point is its a tough contract to swallow. That won't get easier.

Give them Bigfoot and a 5th for some minor league scrub that is about to quit hockey in order to work on his dad's maple syrup orchard. Done. It's actually impressive how well often GMs will bend over backward for each other for things as simple as "future considerations" when they have a good relationship.

Yeah true, but all we did was move scud to save 1.125 mil, and it looks like we broad someone back who is just as bad (I have no idea yet but that's what was said in the other thread) and paying him more. So I guess all this move did was save us a little space next year buy paying a little extra this year. About 150k. Please god yes someone take Bickell.
