Apologize if there is already a thread on this rumor, I didnt see one.

As much as I hate this guy on the Canucks, I would like to have him on the hawks. I just wonder what the hawks would have to deal to make it happen.

While information is sparse, the Chicago Blackhawks apparently remain on the peripheral of this situation and could make a push for Kesler. Rossi writes that they might actually be the biggest competition.

I doesn't have it's own thread but it's being discussed int he rumors thread.

It's just click bait at this point, I haven't seen anyone state a reasonable way this gets done? How do they stay under the cap without losing a valuable piece? Everyone says Bickell but I don't think Van has any reason to make that deal? Do you really sign a guy you call a fan favorite to a big time deal, who is clutch in the playoffs just to ship him out less than a year later?

EDIT and remember Bicks got a sweet Modified NTC in his deal. Whatever that means. 15 teams i believe.

Unless Van is looking to just shed cap space, I would think they would want youth and someone worth at least something now. I don't see us able to unload bickell anywhere, but obviously unloading cap space would need to be done.

I don't see how we could take on keslers 5m without unloading one sizeable contract. Bickell obviously seems like the easiest choice to give up for us, but there is zero reason vancouver would take bickell unless we offered up some good prospects they have had their eye on along with him.

The hawks just have like zero capspace to work with, which makes any deals tough.

I mean. I'm sure they would love to have him, and figure out a way to do it, but yeah I physically don't see how they make 4+ mil in room without losing a large piece of the current team. I could care less about prospects honestly. To me this is exactly the type of thing they are here for.

I would say that if anyone knows about the Hawks prospects, it would be Vancouver since their AHL team is here in Rosemont. They play the Hogs a ton, so they know what the Hawks kids can do.

I do not see it happening because of the cap issue. There is no way to make that kinda room without shedding more than Bic and picks.

A deal for Kesler would move Handzus to the press box!! His no movement clause is useless!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HEEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!

Anyways my take on the rumor. Im skeptical of it happening but im enjoying the excitement of thinking about it happening. Dont care about past history with Kesler and the Hawks anymore. That rivalry is dead in the water, the heats not there like it used to be. All I see is Kesler and Kane and the chemistry they show when ever in international games and I cant see why it wouldnt translate on the Hawks. Kesler is also not the same prick he was 3 years ago. he has matured. and getting him out of that dirty franchise would be the best thing for him as he is a legit top 5 2nd line center in this league. Cant just pass off a possibility of a guy like Kesler coming here just because of some stupid past rivalry nonsense. That's not a good way to do business. I am willing to bet there are zero hard feelings from our current roster players towards Kesler. If Andrew Ladd were still on the team that would be a different story. Ladd and Kesler wore the bad blood btw each other and to a lesser extent Bolland and Kesler. Those guys aint here so who gives a shit? I dont.

I also dont care about the cap stuff. Thats not my job to figure out as a fan. Guys get paid huge money to figure out cap shit ill let them deal with all of that.

Nothing about the move makes sense, especially keeping him in the west to a known rival. Which means it's perfect for Gillis.

It's not like the Canucks are making the Playoffs or are going to be any good any time soon... so why would they care if Kesler went to the west?

his no trade clause limits where he will go. Gilliss hands are strapped big time right now and he did that to himself with the Lou fiasco. I dont think he has the time to play the who he would rather see Kesler tarded to game. And I agree with Stu they cant think like that right now in their situation. Best offer on the table will get him in my opinion. That;s where I see the trade not happening. I think some other teams offer is just going to be that much higher. Guarantee there is a bidding war going on right now and its going to come down to a what prospect and what pick to go along with the first will land him.

I can't see him coming here.

I posted why on the main page. There's just too many if's, and Stan already said the Hawks aren't going to be active this deadline. Not even one hint, he shot every possibility down. Does that mean he isn't going to make a deal? No, but literally 3 days ago he was dead set on this roster.

He did not even say that he was "willing to listen" or "always looking to improve" or anything like that. I think this is our roster. Anyone talking about Kesler or another big name is just blowing smoke for hits.
