Under McDonough’s leadership, the Blackhawks have become one of professional sports’ biggest success stories. To date, the Blackhawks have entertained 146 consecutive capacity crowds at the United Center and have grown a season ticketholder base from 3,400 to over 14,000. For the first time in franchise history, the Blackhawks welcomed over 1,000,000 fans to the United Center during a single season in 2008-09 (1,052,261), while establishing an NHL club record by attracting a league-leading average of 21,783 to their 40 home dates at the United Center. The Blackhawks have also lead the NHL in average attendance in each of the last three seasons

I still can't believe any of this has happened.

It's a shame it took Dollar Bill dying to drag the Hawks out of the 1960s.

Ultimately the promotion of this guy falls into the who cares category.....unless you're him in which case i am sure it comes with a well deserved raise, now if they would get rid of that coat tail riding twit with the famous father that would be news, also doing something to make the team more solid for next year might be newsworthy as well, the promotion of a current administrative employee....not so much.....

True. Props to Rocky for knowing his own shortcomings and hiring the right guy - and I'm not a McDonough guy. Ultimately it may be a title and raise, but the ship has been redirected and continues to be driven in the right direction.

Can he put some pressure on WGN to improve their HD video feed?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the guy either, but you're right- you can't argue success.

An improved WGN feed would be nice. Actual post game coverage on GN would also be nice. But more than anything, I'd like to see McD put a hit out on Dan Roan. It seems like he could make that kind of thing happen.
