The more competent Dmen the Hawks sign, the less of a chance that John Scott ever sees the ice. I like this.

Looks more and more like Campoli is gone too!

Lepisto is awesome...Sopel esque in terms of shot blocking and hits, and he also has a twitter account!

He's a spare. He will muck it up a little in the corners, block some shots, and won't make a lot of dumb passes but he isn't about to skate the puck from end line to end line or put up any numbers. I'm not sure what the point of this one was. He's not really a replacement for Campoli because he isn't the same type of player Campoli is.

We seem to really be changing direction quite a bit... What the hell are we gonna do, start playing the old New Jersey neutral zone trap? ;-)

Actually it would be guys like Carcillo and Mayers that keep Scott off the ice, as he is a purpose player. That purpose is only incidental to hockey.

So by stating that the Hawks are done with Campoli, does that mean he still goes through with the arbitration hearing? It would be entertaining to see what he thinks he's worth, then see what he signs for -probably with a down and plummeting team like the Islanders... best of luck to him. Adios. :)

I'm a fan of anyone that punches Jack Skille in the face.

For Christmas this year, I got a Jack Skille sweater. It arrived about a month late because of issues with the website, a few weeks later he was traded. That sweater has since been sitting in the bottom of my hockey bag in case I need an emergency sweater for a game.
