Hayes/Morin sent down

Thursday could be the first time in over a month this team has a FULL line up again, with Sharp and Hossa and now Zus in the line up.

They lead the NHL in points with a game in hand on a very HOT Penguins team, with 2 of their top 6 MIA for almost a month.

Let the good times ROLL!!!!!

And the possibility of more trades to come before the Blues games.

I think Stan was pretty clear yesterday he's not trading any "roster" players so unless it's some like Beach/Lalonde for draft picks I'm not expecting much.

And really, this team IMO doesn't need much. Their record speaks for iteself.

With teams wanting Saad, Shaw, Kruger, Leddy....and/or TT, Daneault, Clenending, Johns....I don't want a rental for this future.

If they trade Bickell or Stalberg to upgrade for a rental since they're UFA's - it would make sense. Otherwise, don't mortage the future and go with what's made them best in the league.

Couldn't agree more. Sometimes it's about the trade you DON'T make.

Morin kind of got screwed in the 2 games he played here but he was pretty good and took his small minutes and utilized them. Certainly earned my attention.

Hayes was spoiled and didn't do much with his big chance. He needs to work on his skating and someone on the farm has to teach him how to use his size to his advantage better.

Will be great to see Hossa and Sharp back. Im not concerned about rust either both should be able to get in the game right away and make a difference. Too skilled.

I think Morin was put with Kruger....because someone said they played together while in Rockford during the lockout? I may be wrong...

that would make sense.

Hayes played with Kane in Switzerland so I understand the mathematics.

Regardless of what line he played on, 9:14 ES and 0:00 PP TOI vs. the Predators isn't much of a chance... but in that time he was more effective than:

-Kruger (+0, 0 shots, 1 hit, 14:00 ES / 2:14 PP)

-Hayes (-2, 1 shot, 0 hits, 11:49 ES / 1:52 PP)

-Shaw (-1, 1 shot, 1 hit, 18:13 ES)

-Frolik (+1, 1 shot, 1 hit, 14:52 ES / 0:18 PP)

Morin: +0, 2 shots, 2 hits... 9:14 total TOI.

Scored in his first game this season, was very effective and created a lot of offensive chances on the 4th line... and gets punished the next game with less ice-time, while Frolik is trotted out on the 1st line and Hayes is skating in cement with Patrick Kane.

I know Q has his hands in your pants, but that was pretty dumb.

Hate to see Morin sent down. Think he's gotta get into the show and play more than 4th line minutes.

Hayes needs to work on his foot speed, still not fast enough for the NHL and doesn't like to use his size at all.

Are either of these 2 being called up again as it sounds like Sharp wont play Thursday only Hossa. Or is Hands Of Zues going to bump someone up to the second line?

If they call up and Sharp does indeed sit out can it please be Morin and not Slumberjack Hayes?

Agreed. Buuuuut a very obvious case can be made that right now the Hawks don't need either of them but Rockford most certainly NEEDS them. The Hogs pretty much have to be perfect their last 8 games for even a chance at the playoffs because for the second season in a row they waited until the final third of the season to get their collective shit together and play like a team with talent making and make push for the post-season (yeah, I'm giving you the ole side-eye Dent!). As much as I clamored for weeks for Mo to get his shot in Chicago and was very pleased by his 2-gm performance I also want the Hogs to make the playoffs even if by the skin of their necks. Prospects who have been consistently great for them all season deserve at least a playoffs shot like Pirri, Morin, Smith, Clenny, Hayes and Dahlbeck.

Not entirely true. They had a bunch of guys who really didn't want to be there playing. Not until the Lockout was over, those guys were in Chicago, and the guys that were supposed to be there playing in those slots, did they start to figure it out.

Least that's how I saw most of those games.

Depending on what the Ads do the Hogs still face them twice and they are 2pts behind them. Going to be close.

Agreed and I said the same thing several times in the Hogs thread about being disappointed there were prospects who pouted their way through Rockford while others prospects were resigned to their hockey present and cared about what they were contributing to the team they were on not the team they wished they were on. Eh, in terms of standings it still amounts to the same thing as last year though---this team with all the talent this year should not be scratching and clawing to make the playoffs IMO and because Dent couldn't get them to stop fucking around earlier they find themselves where they are right now. Lather, rinse, repeat so far of 2011-12. I wants some progress damnit!!! And I am still gonna side-eye Dent, LOL!

And yes, it's going to be TOO close and the shitty back-to-back-to-back this weekend that I already whined about in the other thread is going to make it even tougher. At least they did what they had to on Tue.
