anyone watch this? Holy Shit, what a Season 2 finale!!!! I had to stand up and applaud
Yes. I thoroughly enjoyed this season.
HBO hasn't renewed it yet for season 3, and there's quite the fear they will not. Apparently the show hasn't done well in the ratings department.
International Assassin... Certainly one of the best I've seen in some time. Been awhile since I've had a show that had me on the edge of my seat the entire episode.Yes but HBO isn't as concerned with ratings as they are # of subscribers. I think it has more to do with what they have in development and if they can fill their schedule with something they think would get more subscribers. HBO has lost a lot of high quality tv shows recently. I think it gets renewed.
Anyways, that episode where Kevin was a hit man, was that not one of the single greatest episodes in TV history?
I didn't have that issue with The Leftovers... True Detective.. absolutely. I gave up on that show since I couldn't figure out wtf was even going on.I'm behind and am actually watching the assassin episode now (half last night and the rest now). The show drags at times so for me it hasn't been the easiest to follow.
See I never watched Lost, so I don't quite understand all the comparisons to it, other than I know its by the same guy.I enjoy Leftovers, but I do think Season 1 >>>> Season 2
I felt a bit meh on the finale of Season 2 as compared to Season 1... it was good, but it didn't hit me as hard.
Also Season 1 managed to have these awesome ups and downs I didn't get in Season 2.
The episode in Season 1 where the GR member is killed and Matt goes to try to be nice and help the GR members grieve.... and Lorie goes outside and blows her whistle in his face.... I don't feel like Season 2 had as powerful of moments like that one.
Question for everyone.... Kevin.... was he alive at the end of the finale or no? Seemed odd.... he was walking around bleeding profusely...
I feel like Leftovers is headed for a Lost "Purgatory" explanation.

I feel like Leftovers is headed for a Lost "Purgatory" explanation.
In a global cataclysm, "The Sudden Departure," 140 million people disappeared without a trace. Three years later, residents of Mapleton, N.Y., try to maintain equilibrium when the notion of "normal" no longer applies. Intense grief has divided families and turned faith to cynicism, paranoia and madness, leading some of the traumatized to join the Guilty Remnant, a cultlike group. Kevin Garvey, a beleaguered police chief, must keep peace between townspeople and the cult, a task made tougher with concern about his kids. His daughter alternates between apathy and rebellion, and his wayward son befriends a charismatic prophet. "The Leftovers" is based on the best-seller by Tom Perrotta, who is one of the series' executive producers.Never heard of this show. Briefly explain.
I love the show and accepted early on that there will be things that I don't understand, but that's okay because it's so good.
I didn't want to start a thread about it, so this seems like a good place to bring it up. Fargo. That show is outstanding. Season2 > season1 imho.
RE: Fargo I agree overall.
I derped and didn't see the Fargo thread.
On the Leftovers, I love that show. I still have no idea what's going on, alive, dead, I don't care it's fucking great. Glad to hear about season three!
