@600k per CapGeek. Takes a bit of a cut. I like it.
He's smart for taking a cut in a situation that pretty much gaurantees him a regular shift. If he performs well, he can make that much more come next off season. Smart moves but guys like Skille and Hendry to sign for less to get a real shot at the NHL and smart on the front office for signing these guys to 1 year contracts in a tough cap year. Good all around.

He doesn't have the greatest defense sense, but the man can skate.
I think he is a little better defensively than he showed last season. Being the scratch or being bounced from forward to D may have hurt him a bit in terms of consistancy and keeping pace with the game. In the AHL his D was really strong, he and Hammer were shut down. But that is at the AHL level. Hopefully a normal D shift will help him settle in.
