So, I'm at a customer site yesterday with a resource were are trying to place. Really bright guy and we are billing him at $300/hr. So I ask him where he lives and he says Kansas City on the Kansas side. Then he says we are moving to the Missouri side because they are getting Google Gigabit? I'm like wtf you are moving your whole family for really fast internet service? He says yeah.

Im betting a few of you would move for fast internet service

Can't say I would move at this point to go from Comcast to Google Gigabit but if I lived somewhere and I didn't have any broadband option I would probably move for it....

Im moving next year to Rochester New York and although Internet speed won't be the first thing considered it will be considered when chosing the neighborhood. School district will be number one.

I live in KCMO and have Google Fiber. Shit is fucking awesome. If I lived in KCK, I would definitely move for Google Fiber because a) KCK sucks ass and pretty ghetto and b) Moving to KCMO is like moving 10 miles. That's not some huge move. You are moving into a much better neighborhood and getting Google Fiber to boot.

When I bought my house 6-7 years ago, cable/internet provider played a part in the decision.

I wouldn't sell my house, pack up my shit and move just for faster internet, but if I were already in the process of moving, then internet would be one of several factors I'd consider. And it would be a pretty important factor.
