SO, in light of the recent news of Hester probably bailing, My jersey will be expired, and it got me thinking, Is his legacy great enough for me to wear A former Bears player's shirt. Obviously an Urlacher, Payton, Ditka shirts are or will be timeless. Does Hester fit in with the Bears all time greats. I am leaning no and am thinking i have to get a new one. Jersey talk aside, I do believe he should make the HOF though. Thoughts.

he's not one of the all-time greats, but he should be in the hall of fame... interesting.

I think returning that opening kickoff in the Super Bowl alone makes his jersey worth wearing after he's gone, despite the outcome of the game. his returns changed games. his mere presence made kickers make sure that they didn't kick it to him. even when everyone on here was shitting on him, he's still revered in the NFL as one of the most dangerous returners ever.

oh, and he was still top 5 last year. you know, after he's over 30 and labeled completely worthless. whatever.

I have the same dilemma now, lol. He was the last jersey I had of anyone on the team. I have the Urlacher and Payton but I feel I need a current player jersey. I'll still wear my Hester jersey, the dude was awesome. I just want to have a current player, question is who do I get? Jeffery? I wish we had some stud defensive player that I knew would be around for years to come. How much are Shea's jerseys going for? lol

Best returner of all time, who in my opinion deserves to be a hall of famer. (Though I don't know if he'll really get in.) Definitely worthy of having his jersey worn.

No matter how many times he pissed me off, anytime a kick (punt or kickoff) was about to go Devin's direction, it was must watch excitement and hold your breath time for the other team. He was the best at what he did.

For whatever reason, I've never had a Hester jersey. I have many others but not a 23. He IS a great Bear, and always will be. The next jersey I buy will most likely be a Hester home jersey and you can bet your wishy washy ass I'll be rock'n it.

I outta dislike you, you dumb bastard. :gary:

Great Bear no doubt and changed the game for the Bears in field position, let alone with return TDs/yards. Thing is didn't Ray Guy only make the hall of fame this year? Based on that it could be a long time before Hester sniffs the H.O.F. If ever.

Now I have posted that, he'll get in quicker than quick.

As for wearing jerseys, wear whatever you like, when you like, it's a Jersey. I own an Izzy Jersey, that served me well, ya know? ... :D

Greatest returner of all time, Pure excitement whenever he touches the ball (even now) and actually won the Bears some games on his returns alone. Where that jersey with pride. I never understood the hate for him just because he never made it as a receiver. One of my favorite modern Bears.

Gotta say though, while that KR in the Superbowl was awesome...how about the fake kneel down, field goal return against the Giants in the 4th quarter? Absolutely loved that.

Good enough to be in the hall, but not good enough for you to wear his jersey. Ok.

Yes. The faked kneeling down TD was awesome. It reminds me of what the friggin cheeseheads do once to us every year, unfortunately.
Maybe this year they can inform our special teams that GB might be goin for it and trying to deceive us somehow, so follow the ball ??

I'll hang his jersey along side other now expired Bears, but there would be no shame in wearing it, IMO.
