Hello Everyone,
Thought I would introduce myself although a few have encounter some of my post. I actually joined the board back in October 2010 and have just been observing. I am a late comer to these type of boards, the first time I joined one was last year and it happened to be a Blues' board on the StLouis Post. I stumbled upon it after the Hawks had played the Blues last year January and the reason I joined was because they were trashing Eager, so I joined it and that is how I started my board life. Two months later I stumbled upon the Hawks' OB joined there and have pretty much been the only board I frequent on a regular basis.
What brought me to this board was a thread on the OB asking "where has all the old board members gone?" One poster listed a few boards; HF & Indianheadnation, so I came and checked it out?
Now I am a very calm poster although it may seem contrary! The semi volatile exchanges with RK is not the norm from me but I really felt it was a "bit" from him because I was new, so I just assumed RK had to give the new guy the business just to let him know how it will be. So I was like; "hey bring on".
My history as a Blackhawk fan goes back to the late 60's, I pretty much followed my Dad's lead and became a fan. Granted we were the only ones on the block that were Hawks fans, matter of fact we were the Hawks fans in the whole neighborhood. The funniest part about my neighborhood was when the older guys would call me over and ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I would always answer "a hockey player" these guys would just fall out on the ground laughing at me and I would just walk away and never understood what was so funny. Well I found out the hard way....they don't play hockey in the "hood"
Some of my best memories is the 71 stanley cup finals, rushing home from baseball practice to listen to the games on the radio and that last rush home for game 7.......................oh well you know the rest!
My favorite teams were the early to mid 80's, I still envision that bad ass Secord camped in front of the net and when he wasn't scoring goals he was whipping ass....mos def my favorite before the ultimate.........you know!
This statement is for my buddy RK....when I go back and forth with you I am smiling from ear to ear. I truly do not take the bantering back and forth seriously. I truly take as if we are sitting in a locker room or at a bar giving one another the business...that is it. I truly do not know what else to tell you. And yes some of my antagonistic statements were meant to get a feel on people emotional tolerance! This way I know who I can push and those who I can't push...so I am getting snapshot.
I have this grandiose sense of humor and I am the silliest 49 yr old on this earth and I have learned to embrace it. So I will normally tend to have a spice of silliness in my posts.
And yes Stu, I do like taking 30 minutes of free time to make silly parody videos of threads, and I also make gifs so if anyone has an idea for one I will give it a shot! I am generous with my time.
And Stu me and you have something in common; I do the GDT's on the OB
