It's not a done deal or we would have heard of it. He just says he thinks he could be dealt there.

I read it wrong at first because I thought it said he was telling people he was dealt rather than he thinks he will

I want to cash in on Kirk's value, before he pisses it away during the regular season

I could have this verified if only it came out a couple days earlier. Now by the time I see the person who could verify it for me, it will either be done or not done.

It never says anything about draft day deal so maybe it will be in time

You think this is a draft day kind of deal then?

I was always under the impression that we'd wait it out until the summer.

I think the Bulls want to do whatever they can before July 1st to solidify the backcourt. Its a momentum thing.

If Hinrich is dealt to Portland the the Bulls have to re-sign BG.

Good, I hope we can send them Deng too. I don't see a huge dropoff between Kirk and Loul and Outlaw and Blake. Certainly not the 75 million in guaranteed salary.

That's a drop off to be sure. Kirk is better than Blake & Luol is better than Outlaw. The best thing any of us fans can hope for is Deng returning to the 18 & 7 form of 2yrs ago, so he is atleast 1) becomes a solid contributor, & 2) improves his stock in a potential trade.

But it might be too much to ask of Mr. Glass. He just began running this week after 4 months of inactivity. What was his injury again? A microfracture no one could find that required surgery?

I'm not saying there isn't a drop off. But it certainly isn't a huge drop off. I would describe both as poor mans versions of each other.

Here are the per 36 numbers from last year.

Outlaw 16.6 5.3 1.3 on 54.1ts% 24yrs old
Blake 12.5 2.8 5.7 on 55.7ts% 28 yrs old

Deng 14.9 6.4 2.0 on 51.1ts% 23 yrs old
Kirk 13.5 3.3 5.3 on 55.1ts% 28 yrs old

Seriously, I don't see a signifigant difference. Do you? Everything is very similar, Kirk and Deng's old numbers are inflated due to being main scoring options which they shouldn't be. I don't even think Deng is good enough to be out Salmons for the starting line up. I wouldn't mind making the swap.

Deng and Kirk combined played less games than them. We all know Hinrich is better than Blake.

Right and deng is better than outlaw but by houw much. I think Outlaw and Blake give you 75% of the production for 40% of the price on non guarnteed deals. Financially we would only have Rose, Noah, Asik, three cheap first round picks and Salmons option under contract. We could absorb two max deals under the cap with our pg and c of the future locked up. We could potentially get Bosh and James to go with Rose and Noah or at least take on a max deal guy for cash like Gasol and VC were traded. All of those options are better than Kirk and Deng and if we strike out, the 2011 fa class is almost as good.
