Hello,
Running into a snag here. I have a website that I want to host off of my Windows 10 PC. I have IIS installed. When I opened IIS it did not provide me with the option to add a website/point to a homepage. How would I go about doing this?

Thanks.

Not going to help you start a Christian Bears website to compete with us.

He can call it "Brett and Monk talk Bears and abortions". This season those are the same things.

Im no expert with IIS but I do the deployments to our WEB servers for our AppDev team.

If you open IIS on the left side under the Connections tab you may need to connect IIS to your site/LocalHost for me it shows our Web server name under Connections and then I can right click and "Add Website" which I would need to do if our site wasn't already there.

Yeah, not there. Apparently I was missing some of the management tools. Checked those boxes and voila.

Thanks Ares!

ok I am back...so I got it started and I created a new website. I browsed out to the directory where my index.html file is hosted. I assigned it a name for the website selected my machine's static IP address and kept it with port 80. When I go to browse it can't find the page. Ideas on where I errored?

Im thinking you don't want your machine's IP.... you probably want localhost.

So I switched it from my PC IP to all unassigned (localhost was not an option). No change.

ok, I got it. Since it was not in my host file the browser had no idea how to service the page. I got permission and added it to our DNS. Voila, access to my webpage.

I just need Monk to help me add good content. :)

Seriously, thanks again Ares. This will help in publishing this network status self service site.
